Regarding Amazon L5,
I think they increase the YOE requirement, so the minimum right now is 4, so I can only apply to L4

#

Regarding Meta E4,

rounds
technical screen - 2 leetcodes
full loop

  • 2-3 additional coding interviews -> 6 leetcode questions with 4 being meta-tagged
  • system design has low priority, asin if you get a leetcode andn can't answer, it's basically game over

leetcode
It's estimated that 50% of leetcode derive from the top 50 Meta-tagged problems

system
For those aiming for a product role at Facebook, focus on APIs and customer-facing features, which tend to be less complex than infrastructure roles that demand deep understanding of scalability and data consistency.

#

Regarding Google L4,

rounds
1 behavior
3 leetcode rounds

leetcode
No System Design for L4, but Leetcode is harder
learn topological sort (must know), union find, kruskals, kahns algorithm

#

For Netflix,
I heard it's hard to get your resume reviewed lol
try interviewing.io for potentially getting into the pipeline

Damn another convert to the church of big n
It gets everyone huh (i was also a convert for 3 months while i worked for Amazon)

#

For Amazon l5 (i took their interview over 3 years ago) they had only one true algo problem (it was a graph q, you could solve it with dfs)

The rest were design, i had one about Amazon's shopping cart, autocomplete, and i think an oop question

#

Fb questions are mostly in the tagged list, they ask questions that have been banned at other big ns because they were leaked

Google tries to ask questions that haven't been leaked so its harder to prep for but they can be solved using the concepts you learned in lc

#

I think some people in this server have taken the fb system design recently for e4, they might have some tips

quick lion
#

I think you need 4 YOE minimum to even be considered for Amazon L5. I need to ask JL about that
Its funny how Google L4 does not ask System Design while Amazon L5 focuses heavily on that

Too Much Leetcode gives E4 advices like candies, I have seen his advices, now I think I need to follow it + pay for service lile hellointerview lol

#

Oh so you have 5 yoe

For fb its the love of lc

Which company are you working at right now ?

quiet mauve
#

I work for a smaller co, zendesk

quick lion
#

Really cool, they are pretty big in their industry + lots of potential for growth. I think I will apply there

quiet mauve
#

Vanguard is the industry leader too

quick lion
#

It was awesome joining Vanguard. I have learned so much about personal finance and tech. And discovering that personal finance is my passion !

Unfortunately everything has an end, I haven't learned anything new in my current team, we are doing the same stuffs. And no team in my location is hiring. Plus even if I switched team, it's not like I am learning a lot on business side

Plus my current 105k for Mid Level is not bad for MCOL like Dallas. But after talking to CSCH, I learned that VHCOL will increase my expense by potentially 20k a year. But I could make way more with a better job, and thus help me with my FIRE goal.

So did you get the interviews, are you prepping or what stage are you on
I expect detailed reports just like purple puppy provides

quick lion
#

Currently working on Leetcode (medium mastery and niche algo) and System Design

I am not ready for Big N, but no point in procrastination. Big N interview deadline will make me more productive anyways. So I am applying.

#

I will post my progress every week. As much details as I can

quiet mauve
#

you've inspired me, i'm also going to make my own thread on becoming a mid level engineer at big tech

quick lion
#

This is my current Leetcode stats right now

quick lion
#

first week progress is a little slow, I solve 3 med leetcodes, apply to 10 companies and was able to get some referrals (including Google)

formal orchid
#

oh wow, so you're interview-ready? what time are you expecting to do a google interview?

#

1yr cool-down i think you said here unless it's close?

quick lion
#

I'm fairly ready, I would be open to Google interview when I can :

do 1-2 mediums within 45 mins with optimal and good explanations
can solve Segment Tree, Shortest Path (Dijkstra’s, Bellman-Ford)
I also need to refresh my memory every once and awhile for other topics, but I'm ready with them (basically same for System Design)

formal orchid
#

oh but this referral you mentioned, didn't it start a countdown timer for you that you cannot control?

quick lion
#

Im gonna use it once I am more certain 🙂

quick lion
#

For my progress, I solved 6 leetcodes, did 2 mock interviews. Got a referal for Chase, Twilio and one more. I need to solve more leetcode tbh, aiming for 10 this week

quick lion
#

I'm restarting Neetcor and progress rn is 6/150

formal orchid
#

are you doing the exercises in all languages? or do you have a 'leetcoding language?'

quick lion
#

quick lion
#

my progress this week is 9/150, I am traveling to Austin so I don't have the time to practice

quick lion
#

Mid-level at Big N

#

progress right now is 15/150, also I did 3Sum which is in Grind75

#

I have referrals in github, microsoft, chase, amex, twilio but none gives me an interview so far 😦

quick lion
#

progress right now is 20/150

quick lion
#

Its 26/150

quick lion
#

Did 30/150
31/50
32/50, I got the idea for Longest Repeating Character Replacement but my implementation for the COUNT is too lengthy so I couldn't solve it. I mark it as Redo in the future

quick lion
#

Did 35/50 + 1
1 mock interview today - did Decode String which is not included in Neetcode
Permutation in String, spent 30m trying to solve and 30m to understand why i couldn't solve it

quick lion
#

Did 41/150+1
Can't solve Minimum Window Substring but I understand the solution, and can type it from memory
Construct Binary Tree From Preodrt and Inordrr -> seems like a bad ROI problem ? So i just skipped it, maybe return to it later

quick lion
#

Did 44/150+1
Structy progress : 3

Did Valid Sudoku almost correct, couldn't figure out idx = (r // 3) * 3 + c // 3 or dictionary[(r//3, c//3)] though. I think I'm moving too fast, I'm gonna do structy DP practice instead

quick lion
#

I redo my entire resume #1277016482328481793 message

quick lion
#

Neetcode : 46/150
Not Neetcode : 1
Structy progress : 4
Job Applied : 0

Time to take it easy a little bit on Leetcode to avoid solving and not learning. In the meantime applying for the rest of the week.

Lets set Meta interview on 8th October, so I have 19 days left

The goal is to do top 100 Meta, with good mastery of top 50

I did

  • 60 questions so far, i need to do 40 more
  • redo 20 so far, I need to reach 50 at least once
  • I should aim to do 8 questions without coding (1 or 2 with codings), this includes mock. It would be 144 questions
