usually i say to avoid layoffs but ive only been at my new job for a few weeks. I was thinking of saying cause im looking for a job that more closely matches my skillset but is that too much of a generic answer?

I would probably not mention your current job at all if you're only been there a few weeks. No employer wants to invest a bunch of money in hiring someone who might leave their company that quickly as well.

Ya don’t mention your current job if you can since you’ve only been there for weeks.

Wouldn’t even list it on your resume to be honest.

As for the question don’t overthink it, it’s just a feeler question to help establish the why. Just be honest in a professional manner.

“My last work environment could no longer offer the stability I was looking for”

for this question just avoid the red flag answers like outright shitting on your current job or just saying "cuz money"

You can tell them:

  • You want to give back to your community
  • You seek personal growth and to meet like-minded people
  • You are passionate about your career and want to contribute to innovations

You just gotta be honest yet inspiring. You want them to know you want the job.

That's why I choose [company name] because the [company name] has [X Y Z] objectives that align with my passions.

And with my [A], I can do [potential results]. With my [B], ... With my [C], ...

In conclusion, I'm looking forward to growing my experience and making greater contributions to you and our [company name]"```

Please take mine as a grain of salt.

Ye you can also say what Chris says. Chris can literally say "I want more muh-ney", and they will straight out giving it to him, but you gotta be as good as him though
