Hiring is rough right now particularly for people with not many YOE.
Organizations with strong product sense are great. Pinterest comes to mind immediately.

I know quite a few UX designers and researchers that are struggling to find a job even with significant experience.

@frank warren So I took a gap year after highschool, and then I recently finished a bootcamp course on UX design which left me with a portfolio that includes 3 student projects. I don't have a ton of true job experience in ux design yet, and am hoping to jumpstart some semblance of a career 🙂

Unfortunately I think you're going to struggle a lot then. Many of my UX coworkers are very highly educated. Even for basic positions they're going to focus on that.
