I currently have a very nice remote position working in telecom in a non-coding position. I've been there over a year now and am wanting to pivot into SWE as soon as possible. I graduated in spring of 22 with a BS in CS and don't currently have any internships or other experience. I've had my resume looked at and changed in this server before and I believe that my resume may be decent for what I could put on it. I've applied to everything that I would even remotely qualify for in my area or may be remote, but there just doesn't seem to be many entry-level positions.

What do I do in this position?

I'm not exactly in a position to relocate at the moment.

you have a lot more options for internal moves than you probably think or someone external might

Currently, we're waiting for my wife to graduate with her masters before moving. But I'd be willing to relocate after that point, which is spring of next year.

What is your main pogramming language that you want to get better at?

100% Python. I primarily used Java in Uni but have been doing leetcode in Python and it's been amazing.

#

But honestly, I'm not super married to any one language.

So grind leetcode and hackernet to get my skills up and then do a website project to practice fullstack? I suppose I should just hang tight at my current job and actively look for jobs as they pop up.
