#Has anyone applied to a market maker and got through all rounds? (Optiver / Citadel Sec. / etc.)

Hi, I'm looking for advice on getting through the technical interviews at market makers and I was wondering if someone here has applied and got in.

Context:

  • Applied to Optiver and got through the first few rounds (technical assessments / behavioural interview)
  • CS student (not finished) with minor in econometrics
  • 1 yr of parttime software engineering experience at a startup
  • 1 yr of experience at a private equity (finance)

yes I got an offer from optiver (mid level) but ultimately declined. from what I read on glassdoor they like recursion, dynamic programming, graphs, trees, harder problems etc. and that held true for me.

I had system design as well, presumably being mid level.

got an offer at aws for same amount (more if you consider the hourly rate, since you work like 9-7 at optiver)
