applying to mobile and web developer positions. hoping someone can identify any red flags that i should address

u have a lot of padding

#

when do/did you graduate

uneven shadow
#

Padding as in it's too wordy or padding as in too much white space?

#

Also, 2020, but I was told in another review I could omit it.

#

Also, those are the default word margins.

woven sedge
#

padding on the sides yeah

#

if you omit it ppl might think youre a student maybe?

#

i would switch education and skills with experience

uneven shadow
#

That's a good point. I'll re-add the year.

#

So just have projects and experience at the top instead?

woven sedge
#

yeah something like exp, projects, education, skills

uneven shadow
#

Gotcha.

yeah job experience should be most emphasized, place it higher and try to see if you can add even more technical achievements (XYZ formula etc)

#

someone very briefly skimming your resume will prob get impression you’re either a student or someone with no experience

#

also wait so was the job literally with Roblox the company?

uneven shadow
#

Also, what do you mean by technical achievements

Your CV looks fine. It could maybe do with some better formatting, but the content is more than good enough

#

Get in touch with some recruiters.

I’m curious what year did you graduate ?

Alright

#

So right after graduation we’re you applying a lot?

#

Cause I graduated the same time

uneven shadow
#

Not sure if I should connect with THOSE recruiters or

uneven shadow
#

thats on me tho but ive sent out alot of applications

#

trying to be more consistent and apply to at least 10 a day now

wide parrot
#

Try applying through indeed.

#

Or something similar.

#

Linked in is very hit or miss

uneven shadow
#

Do you have any suggestions about connecting with recruiters? @wide parrot

#

I’ll use Indeed more ss well. Any other job boards you’d recommend?

wide parrot
#

I use indeed mostly. Try Google's job board too.

I don't know any recruiters personally, but build up your network by applying to roles that you like the look of, and keeping in touch with the recruiters. Let them know they can send you any roles they think you'll be a fit for etc.
