#Does not going through with an Interview look bad for the person that referred me?

About a month ago my friend referred me to a company for the role of Associate DevOps Engineer. Since then, I've found a job as a Solutions Specialist which I kinda enjoy. The pay might be the same, but I don't really want to pursue that Associate DevOps Engineer role that much anymore since I really enjoy the job and the environment around me.

Would rejecting the initial phone screen be a bad look for the person that referred me or should I go through the phone screening and then make a decision?

that's true; I was thinking I'd do the initial phone interview and then if I do get called for the next interview, just politely decline; but at the end of the day it's the same thing I guess.
