#How do I get interviews reliably as a 100% remote worker?

I currently work for a startup that operates outside my country. I'm 100% remote have 2 years of experience, and they pay me in USD which is extremely important as due to the local economy pulling off a hindenberg. With local salaries I would not be able to make ends meet.

If the startup I work for gets funding my job will be safe and I'll be able to stay on for longer, but if we don't it I'll have to leave.

I have savings that would last me quite a while and the money I get in the next 4 months would also last me at least 3-4 months. But I'd like to minimize the time I spend as unemployed.

When would be the best time to start applying for jobs?

Since this job looks like its only going to last 5-6 months what should I say is the reason I'm leaving? (Currently considering just saying it was a 6 month contract position)

I found this job off of linkedin as it seems more people are hiring fully remotely there. Though still most job listings I find require relocation and that is impossible for me as I'm currently supporting a sibling with serious health issues which would make relocation impossible. What keywords should I be searching for? (I've heard of keywords such as outside ir35 for the UK)

Even with my previous job search getting interviews has been a massive challenge, as most of the time I get outright rejected because I'm not able to relocate or because I don't live in the location of the job. Why are these jobs labelled as remote if they only accept people who live in a certain location?
(I'd assume that there is a different label for jobs that hire worldwide but I've even see 100% remote jobs with location restrictions.)

Whenever you want

#

And you say jobs that say they are remote but have locations restrictions don’t make sense but like if it’s remote in the US you have to understand it’s really difficult from a tax and visa standpoint to hire someone in some random country to work remotely in the US

#

I don’t really understand that part of your original message lol

Like that can be really difficult to navigate for most companies

Yeah I can understand that

#

Thats why all those agencies that hire people remotely exist I guess

what should I say is the reason I’m leaving

#

You can just say whatever your reason is probably

#

“I wanted a new role and this role interested me”

#

I don’t think overtly lying is worth the effort, personally

I was just thinking of saying that the company ran out of funding because some investors pulled out

#

Which is probably gunna be the case but I'm not sure if that puts me in a bad light

As a line engineer, you have essentially no influence over things like funding, so no, not a bad light

I was really worried about that as having a 6 month job on my resume really raises some questions

You will probably get asked about it, but "the company is running out of money" is a perfectly fine answer
