So I’ve been playing dragon quest V recently cause I can play it on the go
It’s really nice
Definitely a lot more archaic than 11 but I think I like the overall structure a lot more
It’s a lot more straight to the point, with locations being a lot more condensed, there aren’t side quests or little blue sparkles on the ground to get you to scour every inch of every screen of the game
It’s just dungeon, town, overworld, repeat
That could be seen as a bad thing, but I like it tbh
Something about it just hits the spot for me
The locations are pretty neat too

my guess is that they have a team working on the 3d graphics remakes for 7 8 and 9 while the 2d team works on 4 5 6 and they started with 7 to test out the engine for 8 and 9

Speaking of Dragon Quest 7…
I beat the final boss yesterday !! Overall, after 70 hours of playtime, I can safely say I greatly enjoyed this game !! All characters were really fun and had great personalities, most islands were really fun to explore and I LOVED the class system in the game. I’m usually not a fan of class systems but this one is pretty good ! And yeah, there were definitely times were the pace was painfully slow, but I don’t mind a long RPG in general. In fact, I was surprised to have beaten the story in only 70 hours. Guess I was expecting more xD
Very excited to try the post game and INSANELY HYPED FOR THE REMAKE
Honestly I think I might unironically like 7 more than 8 so far (although I’m playing the ps2 version of 8 and still haven’t managed to beat a specific boss so I kinda dropped it because of it)

@slim roost @latent sail Demo for DQ7 took me 3h30mins total and i would say i took my time talking to most npcs. It covers the entire Ballymolloy arc in both present and past and I cannot emphasize how good this game is going to be. They added even more QoL changes than they had in DQ11 even. Highly recommend you give the demo a try :)
same goes to anyone else interested in giving 7 a shot: this is by far the best version of this amazing game
