damn soju is that cheap in korea
yeah it's as cheap if not cheaper than water in Korea
bibim naengmyeon TriTasty
Ngl, it tastes pretty similar to the stuff back home in the states
But at like 1/3 to 1/2 the price lol
Korean food in KTown NYC was pretty good
yeah price difference is prob the biggest difference
i'd get the seoulungtang in Seoul, and hanwoo beef
but might be hard to do kbbq solo
Don’t remind me
send me ur IG
@storm pumice You ready for a Korean waifu yet?
I hope my pics / videos inspire you to visit Seoul one day
calm down
My wife is waiting for me in Japan
I've been spending my whole time learning Japanese already
Get out of my Discord channel
I have failed you, young Padawan
D:
I have also learned this trip: try not to book a budget airline, no matter how short the flight is (1 hour), the baggage rules and charges are wild
Also holy chit: Asian airports take the battery bank thing so seriously compared to the US KEK
Yep we do
I got pulled aside to bag inspection
But now thru security
Next flight segment is Korean Air, so less worry about low-cost carrier restrictions
Pre-flight snack: bulgogi sub with apple/kale juice
Also learning: might ditch my Sony mirrorless for future trips and go for a compact pocket camera
fancy food
After dis, took the longest nap of my life, which turned into me waking up at 3:00AM kek
Gym time
Jeju
Leaving to go back to Seoul tomorrow morning
imagine a laundrymat with a pc café in it to wait for your clothes
That’s genius
Paris baguette
Paris Baguette stonk here
I love the café culture of South Korea
Literally a café every other street corner
hit up the cocktail bar called Zest in apgujeong
What dis
Okay, I’ll try to make a reservation
Reservations for 1 suck ass making
Snagged a reservation
Update: back in Seoul, taking a taxi to my hotel
This taxi driver’s road skills make me want to vomit 🤢 🤮
Update update: I am in Gangnam, definitely feel like I don’t belong here
It feels like crazy rich Asians of Seoul
Everyone riding around in a beemer or Audi
@karmic furnace they also can possibly take walk ins for their standing room table
the hospitality there is amazing
I managed to get a reservation for bar seating
Now to iron the 1 dressy shirt I brought me with LOL
dress code is pretty casual
did u post what u pack & how many luggages u take? weirdly thats teh interesting thing to me
Nah, I don’t bring dressy clothes when I travel
I bought this shirt the day after I landed KEK
so whats the IG & are u making highlights of all of these?
I hear bitches love a good IG highlight
IVE and Twice albums

Show them how well-traveled and cultured you are

The IVE album is for me, the Twice albums are for my friend, a die-hard Twice fan trying to collector all their albums
well traveled = how rich you are
Found this diamond still wrapped, bought it immediately
Also, I’ve learned that everyone in South Korea drives a Hyundai or Kia
If neither of those, then it’s a Mercedes-Benz
Leaving Saturday
Nah, it’s kinda out of the way of my itinerary at the moment lol, especially since I’m hovering around the Gangnam area now
ahh
@karmic furnace if you want some shades similar to gentle monster but way cheaper, check out blue elephant. Their sunglasses are like 40-50k won
I just picked up my cheap glasses for $200
That $200 included eye exam, lens, frame, and coating, wildly affordable
First week of this trip went by slow (in a good way!)
This second week is flying by
I’m not ready to go home
Someone find me a Korean waifu so I can get a greencard here
I changed my Hinge location to back home cuz I’m assuming no one wants to meet anyone who is only here for 2 weeks lol
But the ones that I have seen (Korean and not foreigner) were
Yeh for 2 weeks you either have to go for really stupid filters or you won't find shit
my friend in jp managed to match with a jp lady but she was like 40
Lamonting
Gotta shoot your shot in the gangnam/itaewon nightlife scene
Or try subtle Asian travel on fb to meet fellow travelers
where the hongdae hotties at @karmic furnace

They look waaaayy too young for me LOL
Was this Hongdae? Cuz I’m heading there tomorrow
You trying to get me thrown in Korean jail huh
But the one in the middle tho
@karmic furnace yeah that was at Thursday party in Hongdae
you might run into a female cop that's a thot
you can customize a Nike Seoul shirt or nike newjeans possibly there
i loved this sulungtang spot in Hongdae
Looking at pics online, that crowd looks way too young for me LOL
I’m not 20-something anymore
luckily the girls were all 27-29 KEK
but yeah hongdae prob isn't the move
some clubs won't allow over 24 or 29.. and some don't let in foreigners
In THAT case, I’ll be in Hongdae all day tomorrow….after my skincare appt LOOOOL
I read about this online, luckily I’m not a club-goer type
Thanks Chunger
What time did you go there initially? I gotta spread out / plan my Hongdae day KEK
go to Hongdae or the thursday party bar?
i stayed in Sincheon which is like a 5-8 min walk to Hongdae
Let’s say both
I’d imagine like a Friday afternoon/evening would be a lot better than a Thursday
Friday is my “free day” / no plans
nahh Hongdae is popping weds-sun night
Oh okay
since there are 3-4 universities in the area
but it's packed fri/sat nights with the buskers
So I’ll do Thursday and Friday LOLOL
Ah yea
Was debating Myeongdong again on Friday, but Hongdae it is
Good way to end the trip
i thought myeondong was a bit too touristy
didn't really care for the street stalls
It is, but I shopped non-stop there for souvenirs
yeah it's good for souvenir shopping
The street stalls at night were ok I thought
there'll be similar souvenir shops in hongdae

but prob better clothing selection if you wanna buy the young-ish Korean fashion for mens
it was super cheap
That’s the plan
in Hongdae for like pants/jeans, tees and hoodies
otherwise go to any Musina standard store
which is like the Korean zara/uniqlo but nice designs
yep
prices are pretty affordable/better than the US
lol i went to one of those skin clinics in Myeondong
it's like myeondong and gangnam are the skin/plastic surgery hubs. saw quite a few girls with bandaged noses
I looked up a few, ultimately chose to go to a really highly rated one in Hongdae which was really foreigner-friendly
Hence, Hongdae all day tomorrow KEK
But I will say, Korean girls look so good, and fashionable
Now just gotta find a Korean waifu here who wants a foreigner husbando
you can prob find a European girl here
Ehhh
i've never seen so many Euro/white girls with asian/Korean men anywhere else
they're looking for their oppas lmaooo
LMAAO
Okaydokay, today was kind of a lazy day, time to find a late lunch/early dinner then roll out to Zest
I’m trying to OPPA like this guy
Seoul Vlog 2024. Featuring health tips from professionals and the most popular treatments in Seoul. Had a blast filming and learning with you on this one. As always, I hope you come away with something useful. Cheers to good health and continued growth. See you in the next chapter friends.
Comment down below what videos you'd like me to do next...
7:00PM
That suitcase, I just bought earlier today for 119,000 won
holy sht
Korea Air allows 2 check in bags lmao
It’s only 1/3 full
And most of that Olive Young stuff is for my best gal friend
The other 2/3 is gonna be my stuff
I was in a rush to just grab something quick lol
ooo hmmm
TWICE hard-to-find albums for a guy friend
IVE, Boa, and Jang Wonyoung stickers for me
Probably will drop another $100-$200 on Olive Young stuff to load up my luggage and call it a day
i wonder if there are any le sserafim popups
I didn’t see any
And the two kpop stores I went to in Myeongdong only had their older albums
Will try browsing in Hongdae
Exceptional, amazing drinks, amazing staff
I walked in at like 6:55PM for my 7:00PM reservation, oh my god all the Lamontings sitting around with their galfriends

Bro, just imagine walking into a classy bar and Lamontings EVERYWHERE
And they had only opened 30 minutes prior KEK
Then decided, “Nah I’m comfortable, can’t have another drink at Pine & Co., it’s such a nice evening, I’m gonna walk allllll the way back to my hotel”
can only touch with your eyes though
Top clubs for foreigners in Korea 2🇰🇷
I’m posting all my older Korea recommendations that I had from TikTok here, as some people who don’t have TikTok were asking about reccs!
#explore #reels #southkorea #korea #lifeinkorea #seoullife #🇰🇷 #hongdae #foreignerinkorea #hongdaeclub #koreanclub
Not a big fan of clubbing
One of them bound to be my future Korean waifu
We all know Korean skincare looks better than that
Example A - Look at IVE’s Wonyoung
yo what stuff did u opt in to do? do they do packages n shit or individual picks?
They have both
But because I’m only here for two more days, I opted for minor stuff you can do same-day
Like aqua peel face mask
And dark spot laser
shit. shoulda gone all out. shits cheaper there for most of that shit
I'm gonna pray for u on that

get ur simp ass off twitch & stop wasting ur money
do u have have acne or any shit like that?
Blessed with decent skin, no acne
Just arrived at the clinic, there are some good looking Euro-girls here
And korean guys
There’s also a mother/daughter pair here; they look good
No creeping

Girl next to me might be Russian, she look good tho in Lululemon yoga pants
Another girl walked by: college-aged, very cute
Looks like I am 1 of 3 men here
But the other 2 dudes already look good
Gyat
hongdae?

u saved it with this #1020045211424010240 message
But the other 2 dudes already look good :gachiBASS:
[[jump to message]](#1020045211424010240 message "Follow me to the original message!")
lmao

I hear a Mandarin-speaking Lamonting in the booth to my right
sao yi sao me nu
Time to show on what you learned in Taiwan
Should be normal to feel burn after doing a laser
Laser felt like a burning hot needle stabbing my face a million times
Then a heat gun later
Even with the numbing cream?
I got some moles removed and it was like a 6/10 pain experience with the laser
I don’t know if they used it….I didn’t feel my face numb
But you know what they say: beauty is pain
The next time I come back to South Korea, I’d imagine most of my trip will be mainly just Seoul
And I’ll use the clinics services extensively
I got a laser for dark spots, face contouring injection, and like a “clearer skin” cream mask laser-thing
$260 USD total, amazing price
yeah it's a bargain
no pain no gain
did they give you that hydrocolloid skin bandage
Nah, didn’t need it
Getting those contouring injections in my cheek hurt like a biiiii
But will be worth when the results show in a few says and I look like this -

Walking thru Hongdae street now
Might pass on Thursday Party
Too tired / still jetlagged and my hotel is alllll the way in Gangnam
Department store where Queen of Tears was filmed (Hyundai Seoul)
This marshmallow ice cream shit was not worth the 6,000 won
Lady was rude as hell when I changed my mind on the flavour and wanted a different flavour
That’s Korean customer service for you
Not like Japan
Also, saw a Korean college student with a Euro girl
Is it expensive in Korea?
I’d imagine just as expensive as anywhere else like Singapore
You guys not cheap over there
Neither is Korea, but the USD is doing decent against the won at the moment
My sister planning to get one in SK
SGD is doing great also against won this month, 1 to 1044 or something now
It do be like that
I regret not spending more in jp
very nice.inally completely simulating to the plastic culture huh
my girl been wanting one too but she gave up and got a prada shade instead LMFAO
Gotta join, almost everyone here does it
Probably the smarter idea, the Gentle Monster shades I saw…I didn’t really like
I’ll stick to my Dior aviators

But nah, I didn’t do anything plastic-y or invasive
Does a laser face mask count LOL naaah
thanks grievur for gift from korea
Pretty sure I spent like $300+ at Olive Young alone for gifts
Gonna get a nice VAT refund for all my purchases at the airport
And gotta get more k-pop stuff
damn early jay park albums

My opinion on this particular PC cafe -
It’s small, popular only for the League hype, not really foreigner-friendly (had to figure a lot of shit out myself)
I’d imagine other PC cafes in Korea are waaaay better than this one
Pros - really cheap (only cost around 3,000 KRW for 2 hours), food options are cheap, gaming gear is all in good shape
TLDR: go if you’re a big LoL fan, but don’t set expectations high (90% of the ppl there were playing League, the other 9% Valorant, and 1% everything else)
The time I went: the merch shop was closed when the sign/hours indicated they were supposed to be open
Also random side note - I got an LG U sim card from the airport when I first arrived because the SKT line was realllly long
The sim’s been okay, has spotty coverage in some areas, would recommend SKT first
ahh i got the SKT one from klook. luckily didn't have much of a line when i arrived
The SKT line was huggeee when I got there
My first trip: there was no line….but same flight and time
Didn’t have any issues with SKT on my first trip
But then again, I tethered my phones together this trip
Unfortunately, no alcohol with the procedure(s) I got, so no Thursday Party for me, just gonna wind down and chill
If I had to come back to Korea again (which I probably will in the future), I’d probably spend most of time between the Myeongdong area and Gangnam
Hongdae is kinda aging out for me
And Busan and Jeju were alright
A very good question lol
I've thought about this a lot
If I had to choose a place to move to, considering all things (livability, public transportation, foreigner-friendly, "ease-of-use", accessibility, etc): my top pick would be tied for either Japan (Tokyo specifically) or Singapore
- Tokyo/Singapore
- Seoul only (not including Busan or Jeju)
- Taipei specifically, or Bangkok only (haven't visited Phuket or Chiang Mai so can't say yet)
Vacation/holiday-wise: Japan over Korea
You need to worry about the status living in those countries first
True
Even if I did get PR or citizenship...what would I do for a living
It's a dream
But at the same time, I want to keep my US salary and make the same amount overseas
I think Singapore is the right choice if you want to make the same amount
Singapore
Last snacks before flying back?
Just sat down at the food court that opened up in the airport
Gonna eat, then hit up the duty-free shops
Then after that, you can archive this sub-channel again
Also got my VAT refund, so I can use it at duty-free
enjoy the last few hours
I miss japan's famichiki every day lmao
Damn lucky
CONFIRMED, DOOR IS CLOSED WOOOO, this rarely happens nowadays
Anyways, good trip, back to reality
when does the eagle land?

no korean dishes?
I opted for the western option first (should have went Korean, it was spicy squid)

Back to South Korea I go
Gotta find my Korean gf sooner or later
