So I'mma scrap the command handler.
So I got the game over caller to work without the need for a buggy command handler.
But the thing is, because Lua doesn't have a function that detects the amount of credits in-game, it plays a gameover call even when not quite game over, if you know what I mean.

It seems the chip formations I made specifically for agile bosses/minibosses seem to fit in nicely with the flow of the fight.
I think the first level draft focusing on key major enemy formations/encounters may be a breeze, tho I'm unsure how you feel about it.
Also I noticed, each destroyed segment spawns the probe.
