https://sketchfab.com/3d-models/british-rail-class-08-739047d878d749faa7a2911663e6b3b3

had to split the texture files as they were so big on file size

keeping its speed of 15 or 20 mph max speed would be neat with it having pretty much the same tonnage rating as the dm3

autumn moat
#

only correct performance is realistic performance

blissful nexus
autumn moat

30km/h Vmax with 260kW would easily be able to so something like 400-500 load rating

blissful nexus
#

with a trailing consist on a 2% this works out to 429.8 tons
so realistically the 08 would only be able to do 400 consistently

now out of harbor on the 2.5 your looking around 370 ish tons

#

but we already have so many modded locos that pull under the de2 or just a bit more then the de2 that are switchers
hints why i said make it more like a dm3 for the gameplay effect

this would mean that other in agme engines by default or modded engines wont just eb the better options and give more diversisty aroudn that tonnage range

besides the dm3 and dh4 theres almost nothing but 1 or 2 modded engines that can move that weight
but none of those are switches besides the dm3

tractive effort doesn't matter......
There are only 2 locomotive mods under de2 rated load. Unrealistic performance is just lame, no good, no good

blissful nexus
#

but yeah only 2 weaker then the de2

add another 8 that are within 100 tons stronger then the de2

autumn moat
#

ruston and dhl, all other ones you mentioned haven't been load tested or are higher than de2

blissful nexus
#

i have over 10 hours in every locomomotive i have just mentioned

autumn moat
#

3rd weakest of mod locomotives is 4 engine at 500t

#

10h of casual usage isn't that much relevant compared to actually strictly testing their capabilities

#

cie might or not be wrong performance.....310kW and 650t

You could MU The 08

the ones that were, where privately owned and did by the company in a back shed
there is no standard to the mu and to do it they had to modify the controls on the dash

#

yes you could mu them but doing so when it was non standard and only a handful it was done to yeah idk man

that isnt a mu that was a permanent modification
both locomotives are hard wired together with a draw bar between

#

To achieve the required power, a pair of Class 08 shunters were permanently coupled in master and slave formation, with the slave unit having its cab removed and both units ballasted to improve traction. Initially coupled cab-to-cab, it was found more practical to couple master nose to slave cab.

I don't think it would hurt to have MU, to help it fit into DV. Would it be possible to make MU capability's something that could be selected in UMM, could be off by default and on for those who want MU

blissful nexus
#

oh 100% mu would be nice
