#MU cable on BE2

Hmm... it would make sense for it to be able to do MU stuff
charging would be cool too - maybe it could function like a slug in that regard. Unfortunately it's limited top speed before the traction motors blow does have a drawback.
This can, in my experience, be alleviated somewhat by turning the TMs off but that only gets you to about 50 till you start getting a disconcerting grinding noise
Still, would be cool for shunting
And if someone made a mod for this, then maybe the rolling speed could be increased too
Yeah, I'm thinking about the possibility of a sort of "TM cutout" for the traction motors that would physically disengage them allowing for higher speed towing.
For shunting though, yeah the potential of MUing cannot be ignored.
Cant you turn them off already?
turning them off doesn't stop them from blowing up when towed. There'd need to be a way to physically disengage them from the wheels in reality, in the game, I'm thinking a big honking lever
Sounds good to me
Put the lever in painful af place bc why the fuck not
I think the gap right side of the battery container/control panel could work (the game already put the cutout there)
this could be pretty useful
and the script modifications should be pretty minimal i think
Just asking, how easy actually is it to mod an MU cable onto a locomotive?
I'm not sure about the cable itself - but I add remote MU capability to the steamers in my Steam Remote mod - which works pretty well.
Attach to a DE6 slug for regen braking!
I've tried modding an MU cable on and didn't succeed. I'll keep trying, but I suspect it'll need more than just C# scripts.
Added this as side feature to my MU mod
It works surprisingly well
Does the BE2 MU work with other locomotives?
It works with the other DE's and dh4
