#I think game needs to improve appearance with each major update each year!

like the top dummy radiator vents should have working fans, all the doors of the diesel loco can be openable, proper realistic horn with different sounds, adding preassure release in diesels and make diesels fire throw when in over load.
our game completely focussing on steam engines and tiny shunters.
i know there are lot of people who enjoy steams but there are later generation peoples like me who would like to see more with diesels.

something like this

Pressure release in a Diesel? What is it releasing, fuel?

I know someone is working on getting the fans to spin based on demand for all engines which i am extremely excited about

diesels exhausting fire isn't standard stuff, its defective mechanics and/or driving
Only pressure releasing that know of in ICE is on turbos when sudden reductions of RPM happens, fabian can answer better if turbo locomotive engines got dump valves or not

steamers got a disproportionate amount of attention and detail compared to others indeed, we6 will be the 2nd locomotive and if dh6 ever happens, the 3rd, which will make base game locomotives being 2 shunters, 1 universal and 3 locomotives

I love steamers so it’s sad to hear no more of them

#

Except… 🤮 American

i dont know indepth details; i just wanted little more realism

........that is 99% certainly air

Draining condensed water from the air reservoir?
However, I think it is abnormal to have such a large amount of condensed water collected.

Its is Cylinder Relief valve, to protect the cylinder against excessive blow-off pressure valve releases high pressure when it is above 20% normal load!

#

Main purpose is to lift when over pressure occurs in air break cylinders.

Thanks to google!

later generations enjoy steamers too XD

#

But hey, at least the fans should be spinning

rain trellis
#

fun fact: the DH4's fan is just a texture aswell

rain trellis
#

not much but it can condense on cold surfaces thus acculumlate it enclosed areas if not properly vented (idk if you know but brake systems tend to be sealed)

#

having every door openable is just not peformance favourable and if anything would amplify lag

#

also as i think mentioned before

#

diesels don't throw fire when overloaded

#

throwing fire when overloaded is a major sign of mechanical failure or exhaust valves are being opened too early, thus wasted power

#

what you see shooting out the exhaust is carbon buildup that's become dislodged and heated to incandescents

The disappoint was so big

rain trellis
#

would be nice to see it spinning when it's active

I have just upgraded to a 16gb vram gpu with an ssd drive with a built in heatsink, i don't think i should suffer from having all the required simulation or as much as possible because of others who have a weak pc, that's been the main thing that hold back the game from flexing it's muscles

#

DV would loose a lot of players if altfuture didn't cater to lower spec PCs

#

doesn't make sense from a business standpoint either

#

lost players = lost potential revenue

#

= lost revenue = less money

#

the devs need to be paid for their effort and time

#

plus we're getting to a point where unity is the bottleneck

#

it's an off-the-shelf game engine designed for beginners/indies/hobbyists

#

it's not that powerful

#

they want Derail Valley to be steamdeck verified but as it is rightnow, it runs poorly on the steamdeck and drains battery like hell

#
  • not everyone has the money to just upgrade their computer on whim cause the game they liked playing stopped caring about catering to lower end systems

damn, someone get that engine a medkit if it's under 100 HP

rain trellis
#

fire coming out of the exhaust is either a major mechanical problem or the exhaust valves are being opened early

#

with locomotives, as i said

what you see shooting out the exhaust is carbon buildup that's become dislodged and heated to incandescents

#

turns out. massive V16s have the same issues as davey's tiny 1.4 litre

#

they just have the power to do something about one of the problems

And he is also a bit of a dick

dv is from multiple person

#

its easier to add pause feature when you have a big dev team

I was making a point about the limits of unity

hmm.... we dont have latest gen locos here in derailvallley.... so blow out will add some realism i guess
