basically a way to buy locomotives once you run out of locomotives to restore.

That would defeat the whole purpose of the hidden demonstrator locos, you could just buy one and restore that one instead of finding one on your own

it kinda makes sense, if you've already restored the demo ones, and you want more of your own rolling stock

this is for after you run out of them

If we're gonna assume the demonstrator restorations to be part of the midgame, this would be more an endgame thing, I suppose, amirite?

Definitely. Cause if you are buying new, then those locos would be hella expensive. I mean, just to repair the S282 was 120-something-thousand.

#

I could see a brand new one costing 500k or more, and a DE6 possibly costing 1 or 2 mil for one, assuming the prices for the locomotives follow the prices for the licenses

This is a great idea

Would be great

seems pointless and kinda ruins the point of the demonstrators

a neat idea, but brand-new locos need to be hella expensive. That would preserve the meaning of finding and restoring demonstrators

Yeah. I have been ne S282 and I want to double head some S282s for trains but I don’t want ti deal with getting debt when I have other engines to restore

Just have it so you need to restore a locomotive of that type before you can buy more.
Want to buy a DE6? Gotta restore one first.
Won't ruin the balance then, and demonstrators would still serve their use.
