Derail Valley : BURNOUT

might be a bit too much...unless fuel tenders are modded in, so you need to tow a fuel tender on the long trip

blazing crystal
#

*Thinking

blazing crystal
#

Two stations are far enough to empty your fuel tank?

#

Like, you need a full fuel tank to start a job

#

Otherwise you will BURNOUT halfway

#

🥺

Either you fill up on cheap fuel and go, or you pay for your laziness

#

Love that logo though, did you make it?

blazing crystal
#

I am making this map currently@red marsh

#

This map is designed for those like high speed

#

Doesn't have much curves,it is mostly long straight tracks

#

So i called it OVERSPEED

rustic tusk

this can be quite interesting, but will also make apocalyptic locomotives overpowered for it since they have large fuel tanks(4 engine is around 3x the range of de-2, this range will probably be on lower mid end)

blazing crystal
#

🤔yeah....

rustic tusk
#

but well, having for example 50km of track will allow most locomotives to run out of fuel and solution would be bringing extra locomotives to keep power or use the expensive to run and shitty apocalyptic locomotives so there wouldn't be a perfect situation in any case, that will become interesting, all the compromises

#

depending on map hills it could even become a good use for battery locomotives which would regen brake on downhills and extend the train's range(game compatibility to be determined)
HOOOOOOOOOO, this is becoming way too interesting

#

This map will be made for....around 1885

#

Will your apocalyptic fit in its style?

rustic tusk
#

.....iiiiitttts fiiiiiiiiiiinnneeeeeeeee, apocalypse is around 2080-2100 at the start

blazing crystal
#

huh,what will it look like

#

Back to the future?

#

Haha

#

Driving a 2080 locomotive in 1885

#

cowboys:“what the hell is that?”

blazing crystal
#

Like the 4-4-0 american

#

and for narrow gauge trains

#

That is why i use that font to make the logo

rustic tusk
#

well, having fun is more important, players will not always play a mod with modders intentions

rustic tusk
#

as far i know at this moment there isn't any locomotive available in derail valley from that age, eh, doesn't matter, there is a thing called "close enough"

blazing crystal
#

Anyway

#

Fun is the first

#

Don't need to make a rule for it

#

“NO FUTURE LOCOMOTIVES IN HERE”

#

We need fun! hahaha

rustic tusk
#

with steamers at this moment it would probably be easier to travel the challenge distance, halfabrain might or not be making a aussie style tender which would be perfect for this map
But well, the challenge of using the available locomotives with much shorter range would be more fun i think, throttle control, turning off, redundant locomotives would be important

desert bus: train edition

blazing crystal
#

😁

blazing crystal
#

Difficulty:
OVERSPEED<OVERHAUL<BURNOUT

rustic tusk
#

better edit "overhauled" to "base game"
To make people use locomotives something like 1-1.6% grades on the way would be a good idea, deserts aren't always flat, but well, you are the map maker(flat maps would allow locomotives to keep their speed for a long time so even a 4 engine which is rated at 230t will be able to do around 900t on flat)

Even as a self-proclaimed socialist I hate the PRC, they don't help their people despite what they call themselves! They're state capitalist, the politicians just help themselves by getting their buddies to help them out. They're a very embarassment to the word socialism. The "chinese characteristics" are literally just capitalism...

I hope Taiwan always stays independent. I hope that Tibet gets independence back again.

rustic tusk

ha yes, taiwan exists too, there are also other countries that speak it a lot so that also complicates things, but i like to assume the worst situation

frank creek
# rustic tusk ha yes, taiwan exists too, there are also other countries that speak it a lot so...

huh, didn't know there were other countries speaking chinese! I would've thought the countries bordering the PRC had their own languages?

like, a long time ago before large amounts of complicated written paperwork were being sent around from a central government (say mediaeval times) languages tended to blend into each other... but I assume that since then China has grown southwards (if I remember correctly, they grew southwards early in the PRC's history), so therefore that blended language region has been gobbled up, so therefore bordering nations wouldn't've spoken it

Though, the area around vladivostok and such was part of China until Japan invaded and then the USSR took it... so I guess that might be an area that has a large number of chinese speakers?

hmmm, another thing for me to research- chinese languages distribution... I'm meant to sleep early to help my dad tomorrow, but a little bit of wikipedia can't hurt!

#

Singapore speaks chinese? wow, well you learn something new every day!!

I am so gald that you guys are interested in this project!

#

I don't know what western media is promoting China like this! I am very proud that I am Chinese and our country always insists that people come first! I know what my life is like!

#

Well,if you two guys@frank creek @rustic tusk insist taiwan is a country and being so indiscriminate, I'm sorry.I won't speak to you again!

rustic tusk
#

at this moment i think it would be a good idea to not develop more that stuff
By the way, i could easily be considered with positive view of china, eh anyway, it is more productive to continue discussing about the map than politics

blazing crystal

“Considered”?

#

Great,great....great

#

😑

#

Well at least this conversation has given me a new understanding of you

#

You've been talking the people from a country you despise. Great
