Space...the final frontier. The Timescape is vast and beautiful, but it is not safe by any sense of the word. The Timescape is a dangerous and unruly place, where anything that can go wrong, will go wrong. It's a big universe out there, but somebody has to live in it, it might as well be you!

Space Battles is a supplement for Draw Steel all about epic adventures in the timescape! This 68 page document contains the following;

  • Four new ancestries, the Android, the Bajon, the Lizora, and the Qua'ri (first appeared in Jams of The Timescape 2, 5th Place Overall)
  • Three new subclasses, the College of the Hired Gun Shadow, the Slayer Fury, and the Space Domain
  • Three new "Unique" treasures, an alternate take on leveled treasures
  • Rules for Spacefighter Combat from echelons 1-4, with six available Ship classes
  • Rules for creating Ship adversaries, 2 original Space monsters, and 16 reworked Ship monsters including solo monsters like the Bugbear Dreadnought or the ship of Lord Syuul himself, the Waking Nightmare
  • A new 4th level monster band, the Cthulhon!
  • 2 new 4th level alien solo monsters, the Vindari Predator and the Ingenitor Alien

Whipped up an Android Hired Gun sniper last night. Haven't played it yet but damn am I excited to try it! Jenny, your work is sooooo great.

In thinking about the Wanted, Dead or Alive feature, with my above mentioned sniper;

My ranged attack distance is 15 but my feature range for wanted is 10. Is there a way to increase that range so I can change targets without having to climb down out of my tree or whatever and get closer, mark, then climb back up?

Maybe have my mark range equal my ranged attack distance? 🤔

Do you think that'd be an "ask your director" thing?

I’d say probably not since the same is true for the tacticians mark and censors judgement, just a game design thing

Staying 15 squares away from every enemy on the battlefield is also probably pretty hard, barring solos

This shows up as Corruption immunity in the character after it's done building.

This looks like it has some extra text from a potency buff. "... as 1 higher for the purpose of resisting potencies."

it looks like the ability is just eating the text after "highest characteristic" which is supposed to be " and can treat their Reason score as 1 higher..."

I can't find the Amulet of XXAXX in FS. I looked in the Library and in the items in the character builder. Did I lose it?

i think i only included the ancestries in the forge steel file, ill probably include the items in the next patch i send out with the other fixes

Has anyone had problems with Personal Shield Generator? It seems like a lot of free stamina.

It probably seems that way at first, but consider something like the conduit’s faith is our armor which can give 4 people 15 temp stamina at level 1, versus 15 temp stamina per turn at 10th level

And since the ability is highly costed, it often will only happen for 2 or so more turns before the combat is over

For the Slayer, is there an intended Kit to use with that subclass? Presumably Ranger or something that gives melee and ranged due to Fury having so few ranged attacks, right?

I’d recommend any kit that gives a ranged signature, or has a melee/ranged signature
