Hi everyone! Draw Steel is a relatively new TTRPG, and like many others, I come from systems such as D&D 5e. Character creation in Draw Steel can feel overwhelming at first, with so many different elements; ancestry, class, subclass, background, kits, etc.
As a visual learner myself, I wanted a way to simplify the character creation process. That’s why I’m designing character creation cards. These cards will present each choice; ancestry, background, class, subclass, kit, etc, in a clear, visual format. By physically handling the cards, players can literally build their characters step by step, following the order in the handbook, without losing track of their options.
Right now, I’m focusing on ancestry cards (see examples), but the plan is to expand to backgrounds, classes, kits, abilities, and eventually items (maybe), so character creation becomes a fun, physical experience rather than an overwhelming wall of text. If you have any ideas or feedback on the design so far. I would love to hear from you 💚 .
