I wanted this for a character I was making. I just threw it together quickly, but I thought some might like it.

Crow
With naive ambitions for adventure or fortune, you were part of a crew that picked over haunted crypts, battlefields, and ruins for every glint and shine. In defining your career, think about the following questions:
• Why did your old crew disband?
• Do you have any friends or enemies from that life?
• What was your crew's greatest find? What reputation did your crew get from it?
• What scars or memories do you have?

You gain the following career benefits:
• Skills: Two skills from the exploration skill group
• Languages: Two languages
• Renown: 1
• Title—Just Scars and This: Gain 1 trinket (or try one of my simple treasures! https://discord.com/channels/332362513368875008/1280525143155675241 ).
Crow Inciting Incident

  1. **TPK: **A tragic mistake you made led to either your whole crew or a close friend dying. You struggled to cope with it for a while, but finally pulled through by choosing to live a life that atones for your mistake.
  2. **Saved the Townsfolk: **for whatever reason, your crew saved a town from eminent death. You realized the skills you developed hunting treasures were better spent protecting the innocent.
  3. Betrayed: you never fit in with your crew. When they betrayed you, you left to find genuine comrades who you’d be honored to die beside.

I think the Title should be a passive/active bonus of some sort, not just getting a trinket. I do however love the idea of starting with a trinket, I just think it should come out of a different part of the budget, and be similar to how other careers start with project points.

I think the third option might be better if it was phrased more open endedly, something along the lines of "What was your crew's greatest find? What reputation did your crew get from it?"

Overall though very cool!

Maybe you can't lose this trinket as it's part of your core identity?

I like this as it feels like an alternative to Criminal for those who seek that style without all the illegal stuff

Sadly, I don't have feedback for you as such. Just keep it up!

Fair enough, I just really like the vibe of the trinket thing. This probably sounds crazy, but sometimes game design feels like writing poetry; you have to work within strict formats and spartan word counts to communicate something beyond just the mechanics. I like "Just Scars and This" because it "rymes," so to speak. Its exactly what I want to communicate with the career, namely, looking back, it wasn't worth it. Its like the WW1 vets throwing their medals in the ocean.
