While and whilst mean the same when we use them as conjunctions. They both mean ‘during the time that something else happens’, or ‘in contrast with something else’. While is much more common than whilst, and whilst sounds more formal

Oh never hear that word before
I'm actually not seeing this, and the original is "while": https://github.com/home-assistant/android/blob/1cf0dca570fc596e1aedbca0ea3d14fec8412244/common/src/main/res/values/strings.xml#L1081
Which English variant are you using? Maybe someone translated it (which means you could change it back, I suppose).
Just messed around on my phone, It is "Whilst" when under English (United Kingdom) but if I switch the phone to English (United States) it changes to while.
The default translation (to which I linked) is supposed to be US English so that lines up 👍
Why someone decided to translate this in UK English is a different question 😅
tbh Personally as someone from the UK... I think "Whilst" is what I would use If i was making a decision. Although I probably wouldn't care enough to translate it...
Please don't remove my my 14th century Middle English T...
Found it...
They removed the 'u' from colour and honour already 🙁
