New user of home assistant. Finally got my HA setup with ZBT-1 running Zigbee and a ZBT-2 running Matter over Thread. Hopefully I will start moving a couple of sensors this weekend off of Smartthings, one at a time.

However, I am in the market for a smart lock. I am not the sharpest tool in the shed and maybe mis-read but ... can I use/tap an iPhone and/or Apple Watch to open a lock without having Homekit? Is this capability in any of these locks? I don't need that walk up feature (think its UWB) but just the ability to tap my phone/watch to unlock/lock.

I am leaning towards an Ultraloq or Yale Assure version. This tapping feature will greatly increase wife approval.

Thanks in advance.

My wife was skeptical, but using the watch to unlock certainly has been a winner. Sorry I can't answer the question. I got U100, but that will require you to also buy an Aqara hub.
