As I use the same setup - Where can I find the "multicast snooping" setting to disable it? It seems that all guests use the same virtual bridge device.
I’ve had a few Matter over Thread devices for a while, and recently I significantly expanded my network thanks to the new IKEA devices. I’ve been using the new OHF Matter(.js) Server available as an option in the current Matter Server App, along with the OpenThread Border Router App. Things were very good (the new Matter server is looking gr...
All guests use the same virtual bridge device by default, but you can creaate new ones if you want to isolate that change to specific guest(s)
That sounds indeed to be a solution for my Timmerflotte sensors that go offline from time to time out of no obvious reason. I will create a new virtual bridge device as I have also IPTV running over the default bridge. I am really eager to see if that solves my issue too. Thank you for sharing it!
Hmm, it seems that I can't create a new virtual bridge device that uses the same default gateway IP like the already existing bridge uses. That's a show stopper, as I only have one gateway on my network.
I think the alternatives to disabling the multicast snooping on the bridge are to run the multicast querier on the bridge interface to keep the bridge table from timing out, or to set the specific VM port to router mode, but these are all things i haven't tried -- I imagine you'll have better luck googling options there.
