#Best OS for HA

You could run proxmox as a hypervisor, Then run HAOS on top alongside whatever other OS you want for other stuff.
Or you could use a container install on docker on whatever distro you prefer.
You can use libvirt and install haos on any linux server.
is the HAOS or a container better?
Haos hands down. If you dont mind the overhead of a fixed mem for haos
Haos can update backup automatically have addons with a special kind of connection making secure connections you need to be very techy to even try to recreate with docker
If you ain't a tech linux user use haos
oh ok, thanks!
then I'm gonna try with proxmox
Right on. Dont forget to install the ssh and samba addons right after install you never lock your self out.
ok, thanks!
The new auto gui is amazing.
You just add your floors/rooms and then add integrations and assign enties to a room and the auto gui does the rest.
It isnt perfect but sure better than nothing and kinda on peer with all those other smart home apps like google
Same as what @dim marten said, I prefer HAOS for the ease of updates and apps. Some people prefer container for more control.
I do love me some proxmox ๐
People who want that kind of control are just the type of person that recommends arch for a new linux user.
my friends recommended me arch to start. ๐๐
