Is it posssible in some way to mirror my old remote dashboard in the new experimental area home dashboard?
Not in the least mirrored but I've managed to create a script/button with the area set to Remote that works but it does not act as a button, it acts as a script / opens a dialogue and I have to run the script.
Is it possible to atleast get it to act as a normal button instead?

Did some screenshots above, just some simple perform actions or call service on the media player entity, for the apps/source to reduce clutter/same YAML over and over I decided to put the generic parts in a script and just send the appid for example, also some generic scripts to make sure that the devices is turned on.
For the Remote Area in the new areas dashboard , using the GUI it generated this (run button)

Seems helpers and automations works, though I need 26 helpers for all of the buttons and possibly a few automations depending on how much I can merge. Would this be the preferred way to handle this scenario?

My only advice is don't try to hack your stuff into the pre-generated dashboards. Those can change at any time which will wreck all your work.
Just make your own dashboard with the custom stuff that you need.

Anywhere I can place improvement proposals on the area dashboard, would be nice to be able to link "a custom dashboard" as a favorite or something instead.
