Since we have a new born the temp of a room is becoming more of a subject.
So i've used the Phillips Hue Sensors with their baked in temp sensor.
Sometimes it can take 15-20 minutes before updating, that is way too long.

I woule like it around 5 minutes.

Currently everything is Zigbee2MQTT and am looking for a seperate temp sensor that is quite accurate with that update time frame.

Are there any recomendations, personally i was looking at Aqara Temperature And Humidity Sensor T1 but wouldnt mind a display too so I dont always have to open Home assisant

Think the Aqara only updates if it sees a change greater than .5 or 1 degree, I think most operate that way to save power. Another option is an Esp32 with a temp sensors they poll around every 2 minutes depending on the sensor you may need to set an offset to correct the temp value. Can’t speak to sensors with a display as I have dashboards around the house

@shut carbon many Zigbee temp/humidity sensors can be adjusted to refresh more often, in Reporting settings

#

I tested this and SONOFF reports every minute

#

press button on device, and than click apply from reporting to modify

#

This is currently set to 30 sec and it works, if there is temperature change

#

model is SNZB-02LD

#

It will drain battery faster

You need to have Bluetooth though, for example via a Bluetooth proxy

Thanks for the answers, bluetooth aint gonna be a option since I need to make sure it everywere available without more proxy's
@spiral root Sounds good, just found out that the motion sensor only updates when where is motion and not on degrees.
Are you talking about the SNZB-02D

I use a RPi4 and the Bluetooth is integrated, no extra hardware needed

Wouldnt that be more battery's to monitor and change? tbh i would like Bluetooth for some sort of presence detection

#

My idea would have been it connects to the closest which will tell me who is in what room

@shut carbon I tried with SNZB-02LD that is for outside temperature with probe, will try later when get home with SNZB-02D since I have that as well
