#Google Assistant linking fails (HTTP 404)

Hello, i am new to HA and trying to connect Google Assistant to my HA instance.
I followed the guide on https://www.home-assistant.io/integrations/google_assistant/ 2 times and verified all config fields but couldn't find any issue.
When i enter google home and try to add the [test] thingy, i am able to login to my HA, but afterwards the redirect to google fails with 404.
Any idea what's causing the issue?

Thank you in advance!

this is my configuration.yaml
Note that i am able to reach my HA externally using duckdns with a valid SSL Certificate, and that the login to HA works. Just not the redirect to google

Did you restart HA after adding that?

Could you try.... when you're at the HA login page, hitting the dotsvertical -> Open in Browser, and select a browser. Then complete the login and select Google Home when prompted

quasi veldt
#

Think i tried that, but 1s

quasi veldt
#

that's how i got the URL, as a matter of fact

azure radish
#

But just to be clear, you opened it in a browser before logging in to HA?

quasi veldt
#

yup

azure radish
#

Just opening in a browser at the 404 likely wouldn't do anything different

quasi veldt
#

yh no i did

sand hare
#

can you try from chrome browser/incognito mode?

quasi veldt
#

tried with chrome
it tried redirecting back to google home, and said service unreachable now

#

huh now it worked 2nd try using chrome

#

Now..what's the difference lol

sand hare
#

lot of browser dont work very nice sometimes, chrome will work most of the time so easier to troubleshoot.

#

Also extensions such as e.g. NordPass can cause errors while using home assistant

quasi veldt
#

Do i need to add someone as user to the google developer project, if they already have access to my google home thingy?

well if using chrome and it works, you know that haos is running fine and you might look at browser etc. 😉

You are now able to support active reporting of state to Google’s server (configuration option report_state) and synchronize Home Assistant devices with the Google Home app (google_assistant.request_sync service).

Try it with “OK Google, sync my devices” - the Google Home app should import your exposed Home Assistant devices and prompt you to assign them to rooms.

Also this doesnt work. Assistant just tells me some other stuff lol

#

dont know google setup, can only help with browser issue lol but do a full reboot of host, cant hurt..

#

maybe even temp disable ipv6 in haos

#

then try again with chrome. For the google stuff i have to pass to others who know more about it.

#

And be aware that after linking accounts, it can take a while before everything is synced and displayed

#

well, i mean.. it's google, right 😉

#

Make sure network >ip>dns>ntp is running fine and that wifi is not interfering with neighbour networks.

#

Recommend zigbee for controlling lights and stuff, zigbee keeps working fully local without the need of a wifi network

#

avoid bandsteering or device band roaming on router, and disable igmp snooping/multicast filtering

quasi veldt
#

the HA connection is splendid tho so far 😄

sand hare
#

gooood

quasi veldt
#

just the devices in google home appeared offline often a few min ago

sand hare
#

check things above and reboot end devices after changes in router

quasi veldt
#

aight ty

sand hare
#

personally?? Nono

#

way to many issues atm

quasi veldt
#

well, a'ight then 😄

#

my dongle is configured for zigbee anyway
But i have 0 devices with zigbee yet lol
