#Smartwatch with Ha

dont have a smart watch, but ai throws this and confirms ha compatibility by integration:
android (preferred by me if i had to choose)
Google Pixel Watch 4 or Samsung Galaxy Watch 8
if you want apple, same about compatibility again and integration in ha:
Apple Watch Series 11 or Apple Watch Ultra 3
those are supported, other ones you would have to google yourself with "smartwatch home assistant compatible"
Or check the older models for budget, but assure comp.
Hoping some smart watch users can provide more detailed info.
i use a Watch 4 from samsung. It's kinda sluggish. But the 8 should work better thanks to its better CPU
I use it for BLE triangulationa and control through the companion app. As well as HA notifications
I believe the garmin watches can at least receive notifications too.
yeah but im looking something simple, those are too expensive
@blissful plover , what kind of things would you want to do from the watch?
NFC, GPS, music, control ha and idk what more I could use, the fitness thing i wont use it
When you say NFC, do you mean using the watch to read tags, or to act as a tag that Home Assistant can recognize? What kind of automations are you imagining?
well i could use the nfc to power off my pc when i need to go out idk
when i have the watch ill se some
Tbh, if my Watch 4 is sluggish with HA, I doubt a cheaper watch will fare better no?
k ty
Does anyone know if you can view live video feed in HA app in wearOS watches? currently looking at pixel 4.
You can do that if you add the camera entity as an complication. it isnt live though. But you can press on the complication to get the latest frame
the app itself cant show you a live feed, watchface complication/widget only
Same for samsung watch
