given you say "on my windows computer" I assume you have setup a virtual machine of some sort? can you explain the install you actually have?
installed bare metal or on a virtual machine?
bare metal
what hardware is the system?
what is the computer that you installed it on?
kano windows 10 but i erassed the windows and perm installed home assistant
am i screwed
or do i need to instal a wifi driver
i havent heard of a kano before but a quick google teells me its a bit of an odd system
i suspect that the wifi adaptor is just not supported. you could try getting a usb one instead. but at that point you might as well get a usb ethernet adaptor and use a wired connection which will be more reliable.
no
its very strange hardware. i guess you decided to use it because you had it laying around
you could try installing debian or ubuntu and see if there is some driver support there, then run a container install inside docker instead of a haos install.
but honestly you might be better off looking for something else to run it on
o
i loooked it up and i said i was compatible
do u think a chorme book would do the job
or icould get like and eithernet
and do it that way
it totally depends on the actual hardware of the system.
k
so instead of livebooting ubuntu and then flashing the drive with haos. you could actually install ubuntu then use docker to run containerised HA instead of HAOS. but the hardware is so limited this may cause other issues anyway
or, if having 8 gb ram in laptop, use it to install proxmoxVE and install HAOS as a vm inside proxmox.
What does ha network info say?
i lookeed up the "kano" device it i dont think this is a viable idea in this case
