#Cant figure out how to setup my Slimme meter from SmartGateways in HA

Sorry if i post this in the wrong channel i'm relatively new here.
my dad bought a Slimme meter from Smart Gateways a year back but he hasnt been able to get it working with HA Green so i thought i'd give it a try i've configured the meter correctly and updated the firmware on it which was about 2 years old he didnt have MQTT Installed so i installed it and connected the meter to it aswell i created a new user inside of HA and didnt make a new user through the MQTT addon left the ports default but now i'm stuck i know i have to edit the configuration.yaml file and add the sensor i did that but dont know for sure if i did that right

I tried to check how its doing with the use of MQTT Explorer but to no avail HA doesnt seem to like that it just refuses the connection im currectly just stuck i dont know if its receiving the data from the smart meter or if i missed/misconfigured something in HA

You shouldn't have to setup mqtt sensors manually

yea i followed it but it didnt show up but i think thats because i dont have the dmsr_reader integration installed

Well it should be immediately clear if it works.

If the dsmr reader integration doesn't show up automatically you can add it yourself

i did that and it gave me a few sensors and added 2 sensors to the grid consumption and return to grid

Yeah because you just added it. But do the integration sensors work? Can you see power consumption, energy etc

can you show me how i can see that because if i go to settings > integrations > dsmr reader
the only thing i see is that it has 81 different entities

You can click on it and click on the meters. Then you see all the entities

You're still not in the integration screen

It should have devices. My dsmr looks like this (I use a different integration with USB connection)

It says 82 entities. If you click on that and click on some of the power and energy sensors do they have data?

apparently there is debug data but i cant read it because the company from which i bought the meter has those files that i need to read that data protected behind a password so it'll probably take a day or so to get that 😐

You can also just use a P1 usb cable that's what I use

i also dont have 2 ports for use and dont really want to use a splitter but if thats the only way then maybe
