I have a brand new RPI5 with just an active cooler on it, but it cannot handle a simple apt upgrade: (see img)
I tested it with a second sd card, taken from an RPI4 and had exactly the same issue... could it be caused by the cooler? Should I return my RPI5?!

enough power from the power supply? DONT do SD Card, will cause issues over time..
what happens without the cooler connector attached?
what issue exactly? reboots or system freeze?
and why apt-update, just install haos image on card.
install haos on sd card with Pi Imager.
The aim is to ditch sd card but since I cannot do a simple apt upgrade, I can't use NVME because it needs an update first
The power is 100w, I use it for my work pc, the cable is from my kvm
system freeze and red light
I first need to update my system so it works with nvme
I'm currently trying an update with my RPI4 power cable instead of my kvm, and I'm at 70% of the update, I never got that far
So I think the problem may comes from my kvm: I have many things plugged to it, maybe something is breaking RPI system when updating
[Solved] RPI5 crashes while updating, should I return it?
The problem totally came from something on my KVM, that's certain now
You might still want to return it 🙂 https://gist.github.com/Impact123/6ee130240bdc6a7fed2d5224616544a0
