Get host machine serial number

Wasnt sure where to post no direct channel i could see

Is there any way through the interface or CLI i can get the serial number of my HAOS PC? Usual linux Dmidcode command isnt found - Trying to order some rack mounts for 3 of my micro pcs including my HAOS box but want to confirm model/fitment and im remote to the machine right now so cant physically check

doesn't dmidecode just read /sys/firmware/dmi/tables/DMI anyway?
you could just cat it and parse it elsewhere (or manually)

If that’s where it’s coming from can check - I’m mostly familiar with Ubuntu boxes so wasn’t sure if HAOS worked the same or what type of Linux it was built off

HAOS isn't built from another distro. its a raw buildroot system that's "just enough" OS to run home assistant.

You can an run this in the SSH addon

apk add dmidecode
dmidecode

It has no access though.

Fortunately I have some tricks. Run this via the Advanced SSH addon with disabled protection mode

docker run --rm --privileged alpine sh -c "apk add dmidecode; dmidecode" | less

I adjusted the command at the end to run the bit that filtered down to just the serial number.

For clarification here as I’ve don’t very little with docker is that command essentially spinning up a container, installing dmidecode then running it?
