Hello,
EDIT:
I got convinced to go the zigbee route, so im now searching for zigbee instead of Wifi as the interface
can you guys point me to some smart home Thermo/Hygrometer combi devices, that are known to work relatively well with HA based on WiFi?
I found this one on amazon, but i couldnt find any concrete documentation that it'll work with homeassistant
https://eu.govee.com/de-de/products/wi-fi-thermo-hygrometer?variant=41849780863160

Any help is appreciated!
EDIT: Sorry for the German Link

does it have zigbee?
i dont have zigbee set up yet, due to my home assistant setup (im running it on a x86 server in my basement)
so any recommendations on a capable zigbee gateway?

Zigbee is easy, just grab à key. Zbdongle-p works like à charm. Use z2m not zha...

Xiaomi thermometer runs fine but process to flash zigbee a little tricky costs 5usd on aliexpress. Sonoff great quality (caution report time to set at pairing within 2 minutes...)

so everyone quick update,
i've found some hardware that should work, but havent bought yet, am going to update yall again in detail if or when it all works.
SMLIGHT SLZB-06p10 as a zigbee co-ordinator, bc it has allegedly better matter over thread support and since im planing to going MoT at some point anyway, might as well pay 10 bucks extra
as for the actual Thermo-sensor, this one sounds good and should be compatible with any zigbee co-ordinator. (even if it says "requires aqara hub", according to the HA forum, it also works with ZHA and Zig2MQ)

I believe those are the same temp sensors I have and they work pretty well. There's a few different Aqara models but I think those are the best. I like this review vid which includes them (not sure if all models reviewed are available where you're at) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XSe60RCvKUk

In this video I review ten different smart temperature and humidity sensors that work with #HomeAssistant using Zigbee Home Automation (ZHA), Z-Wave JS, and Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE). I tested each #temperaturesensor and compare them, so you can decide which one is right for your #smarthome.

Yes, I use the Xiaomi one, is discontinued but I bought a bunch in Aliexpress for 5 euros each. I have one in every room and one outside my window. Works fine and it shows you temp and humidity directly in the screen. The "bad" part is that you need to reflash them to work with home assistant. Some models can be updated via Bluetooth and from the mobile browser (yes 🙂 ) and some models need a 5 euro tool and tinkering with it. Works by BT but you can change that for ZigBee, but in my tests the battery drains in that case. I bought a bunch more because I haven´t found a similar one, with screen, and for that price

the blue different line is the sensor outside my window

Battery drain is because of report. Change settings and all is good.

It reports also on 0.1deg change so report time can be higher than 5 minutes

#

Is just a mess to go to zigbee I lost display on one of them.

Well, although I use ZigBee a lot at home, I can see no benefits changing it from BT to ZigBee. You know, if it works, don't touch it 😅

Yes mesh is mandatory for me
