#Did matter get automatically enabled?

I just migrated from Yellow to x86 and did clean install of HAOS on the N100 then restored a backup from the yellow. Looking through the backups taken before and after the migration it looks like the clean install of HAOS gifted me the Matter server addon. Was this intentional or did the "clean" HAOS install include some garbage?
whilst I do sort of see your point:
it being default probably makes sense these days with the way a lot of stuff is moving towards matter. if you don't want it just remove it or just leave it there and ignore it. its not like its using a huge chunk of resources
I left installed but set it to not autostart.
On the HA forum it was confimed by mod that new HAOS installs include the Matter server
Yeah, Matter gets installed by default if any matter device is found on the network.
Note that even a Philips Hue is a Matter bridge (and several modern TV's) so chances are very high you already have a matter device in your home without knowing it maybe.
Matter doesn't matter to me ... maybe some day, but not today, and not tomorrow.
Then just ignore it
