I've noticed (possibly since updating to 2025.5.1) that my calculated power usage ('Home') doesn't show any value.
Selecting the monthly overview doesn't show any either, and selecting older months doesn't either.

Since a couple of years I've been exporting this data to google sheets, and I do see changes in the meter reading (p1).

Does anybody recognize this issue? and ofcourse: does anyone have a solution ? 🙂

tnx

How do you have 7kWh of solar produced, and exported 20kWh?

Well it raises questions because it directly affects the calculation.
The home consumption is inferred by a calculation using those other variables.

If you have bad data feeding the equation, then you will have unexplained results.

#

There were some changes in the calculations in this last release, though I'm not sure how you would have got good data from the previous set of calculations either.

As far as I know, the usage 'home' is based on a calculation of Usage/Production taken from P1 data.

#

If I remove the Solar addition, I still get the same results:

If you're exporting more than you've produced it won't add up right.

Consumption cannot be negative

While there can be negative production this isn't possible for consumption on the right

#

Instead of showing -22kwh it's 0

#

The only way to properly resolve this is to fix your sensors

modern hull
#

My sensors?

#

what could be wrong with my sensors, when this has worked properly for almost 2 years?
The data comes from P1

Also: The data exported to Sheets is correct, so there is consumption

potent pebble
#

The data clearly is not logically correct

#

You are producing energy from an untracked source

modern hull
#

The calculation is based on P1 data, so the source would be irrelevant.

potent pebble
#

It isn't for that graph

modern hull
#

hmm ok

potent pebble
#

Neither is it for the consumption

#

Like imagine you producing solar energy and using it without exporting it to the grid

#

That would also be untracked

modern hull
#

ok fair point

potent pebble
#

The graph can only guess so much which is why it's not what you expect. There was some issue a while back where energy exported from batteries would also throw off the balance, not sure if that was able to be resolved

#

(A while back as in probably years)

modern hull
#

ok sure. But again: it worked fine for a long time (I've been able to make some comparison with the data from the power company).
So I wouldn't know where to start to 'fix' things, as I've changed nothing (other then installing updates)

potent pebble
#

unless the reporting of your data changed the visuals didnt really get more wrong than they were before

#

like the offset in grid return and production would always have lead to it displaying wrong stuff

modern hull
#

😕

#

So anyway, thanks for your input. I think I'll try setting everything up anew, and see what happens

#

You too Karwosts

potent pebble
#

it probably just needs better tracking for your solar input. if the measurement provided from the inverters is unavailable, maybe something like a shelly clamp could measure it good enough

modern hull
#

Yeah. i have two Growatt inverters. The 'old' one doesn't have a USB port, so i can't use the ESPhome config for that.
The newer one does, and it reports nicely (the numbers from the old one are taken from the Growatt site)

#

I"m not familiair with Shelly clamp, but I'll look into that.

potent pebble
#

they have different ones available but its effectively just some clamp sensor you put around the cable

#

like for up to three phase measurements
