#Continue backup even if NAS (network storage) is unavailable?

I've just realised my automatic backups haven't been running for the last week because my NAS is offline, therefore the backup failed

How do I configure my backup to run anyway and just skip over a destination if that destination is unavailable? (As a side note, this seems like a stupid default, why wouldn't I want to back up to local storage/Nabu Casa/GDrive just because my NAS is offline?)

I am not sure on the actual behavior though

could you share your backup settings? maybe its an edge case where something is not right

# loud trail ok so update: it does seem to happen and appears to be a bug. this is not intend...

Ah okay that makes sense, thanks - I did think it was a bit strange but I'm not familiar enough with HA yet to be like "Yeah that's a bug, I should go report it" without asking the question first 🙂

Has the issue been created? If not I'm happy to do so

And yeah, I just disabled it as a target for now - I just happened to notice it while signing up to Nabu Casa and going to check it was working, so I hadn't realised it was an issue earlier. I did get a notification about it but just assumed the other backups would work properly and so wasn't concerned

Also while you're here, I don't think the notification said that the automatic backup had failed, just that the target wasn't accessible. Is there meant to be a "Failed backup" notification or did it just not fire because of this same bug?
