Hello, I'm just getting started with HA intending to retire Alexa, which I mainly use to control lighting. I've installed HA on my Synology drive, and it's working with the Android app. What do I need to do to get it to recognize my various lights? So far, it has only found one of them (not sure why it's seeing even that one.)

Do I need to choose a protocol such as zigbee and buy some kind of hub for it to all play together? Or will I need to buy different lights? Or is there some type of adapter I can plug each light into?

I plan to buy the voice preview thing, but first I want to get all my devices registered. One thing at a time. Thank you for any advice. The help literature, and a million videos have just led me around in confusing circles.

Thank you. I have made a list. The only light that connects to HA is the Govee H6159, which is wifi. The others which do not connect are also all wifi. Some are Govee, but there are also a Daybetter strip, and two Konodar bulbs, but I don't see an integration for either brand. I also have a Bluetooth light strip that doesn't connect with Alexa.

daybetter is a rebranded tuya device. there is a core integration for that but its compatability list is not super extensive. if that doesnt work to aadd the stuff you can try installing localtuya via hacs instead.

FYI tuya (and the rebranded stuff) is problimatic at best. alot of cheaper devices are tuya under the hood and it causes no end of problems.

Konodar i have no idea. (could try tuya though)

there is also a custom integration for Govee on hacs which has additional compatability that the core one doesnt nessasaily have

pick a battle and jump in to some research. remember to enjoy the small wins along the way. don't expect to have a complete system straight away you have to build it up.

when dealing with specific device intergrations move to the right section for support though. as mentioned above
