Hi I have been notified that in Europe the Energy prices and power consumption details will go from hourly to 15 minutes. At the beginning of June.
It would be beneficial if HA updates the Energy dashboard as well, so it is in line with the actual data, do we know if this is going to be implemented?

Hello, yes the day ahead markets will move to 15 minute time intervals from June onwards which will affect dynamic contracts. If you use an entity to get the current energy price this entity will simply update more often and no change is needed, it will just work.

#

However, energy is still displayed at hourly resolution as the sum statistic is calculated per hour and not per 15 minutes

Yes, sure it will continue to work but the Electricity usage will still show hourly and not 15 minutes, and that would be inconvenient for those that need to know/ want to know their use in 15 minutes blocks in stead of an hour. Just to be in line with the data the electrician companies are going to use from June on wards.

Nobody knows how that 15min interval will behave in pratice but I would also initially think that 15 minutes display resolution would be beneficial to see how automations are handling the peak price periods

yes I understand but that is currently not possible because 15 minute periods are not tracked in long term statistics

"not possible" means a lot of development.
long term statistics can be converted into 15 minutes (hour divide by 4)

but it's not a trivial thing...

maybe @frail rock has an opinion as well 🙂

I use the HACS addon "balance neto" to calculate 15 minute net metering. That might be helpful for you.

In europe, or at least in finland, this balance neto addon was required to get 15 min net metering calculations correct. HA stock behaviour is ok when you dont have solar.
