Anyone with aqara door sensor, does it work sideways?

I have a automation when i press the toilet flush it wil turn the lights of after 2 minutes.
I am going to replace the sensor because i dont want tuya anymore.

However i dont know if the aqara sensor works sideways. See my picture, would mounting the aqara sensor like that work? And if not what sensor would you recommend for ZHA or Zigbee mqtt. I run both protocols.

Automation idea can ignore if u want just want to share this and give some vallue back:
I have a motion sensor in my bathroom, wich turns the lights on. They will stay on for a hour after last motion is detected.
The door window sensor will turn the lights of after 2 minutes no motion detected.
Never had problems, it is my best automation.

You could turn the sensor part of the sensor sideways, the reed switch is usually off to one side

If i understand correctly, if i go aqara i need to mount the sensor sideways to the wall? I was hoping i could just mount it normally and that it just would work

It will work sideways, but the reed sensor is near the middle of the sensor

You can help it by using a ceramic magnet

Allright thankss! I think there is enough gap between the flusher and tile wall to move the sensor around so thats nicee
