#Camera networking with frigate addon

I am considering switching from a docker installation to an OS installation and would probably be using the frigate add-on to manage some security cameras. I am using an old SFF dell optiplex (1 LAN connection). I plan to get another network interface card. Would I be able to set it up so that the computer connects to the network using one LAN port and to a PoE switch through another LAN port, so that:

  1. the frigate add-on can access all the cameras on the PoE switch
  2. the cameras are segmented from the rest of the network so the home assistant server is the only think that can access it

Is this possible?

Have you considered using separate vlans and handling it all logically instead of physically?

The frigate cameras will be what is often referred to as NoT devices (not Internet of Things) that don't need access to the public IP.

Yes, you can. Here's a video. It is older so the UI experience has evolved, but the concepts and rules work.
