are you actually cutting power to them? that's a no no.
thx for the response. yes, I think so. could you maybe help me figure out how to NOT do that?
i THOUGHT you needed a smart dimmer... but then i installed a lutron caseta diva dimmer switch and it just does the same thing
i don't really understand smart switches. to me, it seems odd that they cut the power.
in my mind they should just act like a sensor which tells HA or whatever that the switch has been turned on/off or dimmed, and then HA performs whatever action you want based on that. but it seems like none of them work this way. so I think I am fundamentally misunderstanding something here.
yeah dawg they're all supposed to be controlling power to regular light bulbs
you can count the number of smart light switches that can be configured to not cut power to smart bulbs on one hand. innoveli's line of switches are most of them.
so what do people do in this scenario?
is this just kind of one of those things theres no great solution to yet?
especially as someone with no neutral wires 🫨
Innoveli supports no-neutral on paper but in practice it's a bit hinky and has a lot of strings attached
now that said, Lutron had a dumb idea: just put a dimmer over your regular lightswitch so no one can turn it off https://residential.lutron.com/us/en/stand-alone-controls/smart-bulb-dimmer
