#Needing advice on how to set up IPv6 using nmtui

Hi @nocturne cape,
My advise is not use a DNS Man-in-the-middle Blocker at all. They are nothing but trouble. 6 months from now your TTS will stop or an add-on won't work or the x will not Y, and it will be this awful program that you forgot was there.
You did ask for advice...
I feel like this is a necessity to me IMO. I can make sure my kids does not get into bad things, and I can keep my kids safe from malware. Would you recommend for something else?
It has no effect only malware. That can be anywhere. If the kids are younger, it may keep them out of say porn sites, but once they get tech savy with their friends, they will get around that as well.
I'm not saying I have an answer, I'm saying don't trust this as an answer for that.
If you don't like ads, and don't feel that content creators should get paid, then this works for that.
All my opinion, others have other opinions.
If you want to run one of these, make sure you know exactly what it's doing and remember to turn it off when something weird happens that makes no sense, because we all expect our internet to be there, and when it's not or it's intermittent because something is blocking some things, then that the problem. Like practice, give your self a fire drill once in a while turning it off so that you remember it's there.
I see so many times, people come on here or the forums, weird things happening, I can't load Github or xyz, Home Assistant is broken again... I say do you have a DNS blocker?, and very often yes and it's the problem.
Remember you don't control the naughty IP list, someone else does, so another point of entry into your stuff.
It's not security, it's a personal blacklist and you don't know what's all on that list.
That said, IP6 is usually how kids figure out to get around the DNS blocker because these are mostly IP4 based...
I see what you are saying, have you experienced Pi-hole before?
I ran it for a few months, it messed me up a bit and I pulled it. My biggest beef is I'm a You Tuber, so I'm biased that way. Please get other opinions, I'm probably not the majority. But my advice still stands.
Appreciate the advice. Should I run something like adgaurd home, or should I just run something that is on my computer? I also just want ads to be gone
I don't know if it's any better with IP6, but all the other problems are there.
If you are not running matter or something that needs IP6, just kill it at the firewall.
DNS blockers don't really work for youtube since the ads come from the same domain. That said I don't recommend anyone to run one if they don't have redundancy or are not familiar and comfortable with networking.
Not sure how this is related to #1284966353798697001. Does IPv6 in your network work? Do you have/use SLAAC or DHCPv6? What have you configured? What does ip a say´? Why do you want to use IPv6?
Sorry, I found many threads with pi-hole in hardware, and since I am setting up a raspberry pi (hardware), I thought this would be appropriate.
IPv6 does work, when looking things up, it will use IPv6 instead of IPv4.
I’m not sure about DHCP 6, and I configured my IPv6 in network manager (image show below) and configured it with my router.
Ip a shows the ip I set for both IPv4 and IPv6 and a default gateway for IPv6 (on the eth0).
I want to use IPv6 because I am having the same issue as the discussion below:
