Matter light with double controls, cannot delete it
I came across something similar for another device that had an extra entity that wasn't suppose to be there. My solution was to restart the Matter Integration itself (only the integration. don't restart HA as a whole). Afterwards, in HA core, the extra entity will still be there but should be marked as something like no longer used, at which point you can delete it
@acoustic narwhal I did not find a restart for integration, just reload. I tried that but when I go back to the device I still cannot delete.
Hmm .... I don't really know then. Check the other twin entity and see if it can be deleted.
It's possible you've, at some point, added the same device to HA more than once. I had a similar issue with some of my Nanoleaf lights when I accidentally reset two of them. The solution was to remove the node from Matter, so it'd stop providing it to HA. Go to the Matter Server Add-on and hit "Open Web UI", find the duplicate node, click to expand, then you can remove it. You might need to restart HA after. Biggest issue is figuring out exactly which node is the duplicate. You can test to at least find out if this might be your issue by comparing the number of Nanoleaf bulb nodes reported in the Matter Web UI to the number of actual bulbs in your system. But from there, good luck, I could only tell mine apart because I knew they were the earlier ones and were my first devices listed.
It can be the case, I will try @azure wing thanks.
The other one is actually the one I can toggle, so I would like to not delete it.
@azure wing i found surprisingly hard to delete my light. Delete of both controls are disabled, i could no delete from the app on the thread or matter integration at all.
Ah, not the Matter Integration, but the Matter Add-On, it has an embedded Web UI that you can use to make it forget about devices you've paired with. Ideally you'd delete only the older node ID that is the duplicate. Settings -> Add-ons -> Matter Server -> Open Web UI. Problem is, these are just labeled "Node X" and so it can difficult to figure out which one you need to delete.
If you can find the device in the home assistant ui, and open up the expander in the "Device info" section, it'll show the Node ID there.
