I have my own domain and would like to use it for Home Assistant on my local network.
Now I have configured the DNS of my domain to my local IP (NOT external) and set the Home Assistant URL. However, Home Assistant keeps adding ".local" at the end no matter what I try.
What do I do?
Running HA OS

One of the reasons for this is so I can have HTTPS internally through Let's Encrypt with DNS challenge

#

I always connect remotely via a VPN; I'm not sure if I would want to expose the HTTP(S) port directly on the internet 😬

#

Now I get this error message:

#

And I can't access HA through the (Android) app anymore, just the web browser 🤔

#

Ah an issue with my phone specifically, it works fine on gf's phone 😩

#

It works with (another, not HA WG) VPN on with local network allowed lol

Okay yeah the HA app on my android cannot find HA anymore lol

#

Somehow my phone can't resolve the address 🤔

And I don't know how to approach it

Yes, I have SSL configured, but the error doesn't go away if I configure an external URL

That said, I have SSL, but HASS is only externally accessible through a VPN. I did not (want to) port forward
