#KNX Interface issues

Hi guys I’m new on this.
Just to briefly explained you regarding my problem. Im using a KNX system on my home (zennio its brand)
I flash HA on a raspberry pi 5. Until now I didn’t have any idea that I don’t have a KNX IP interface. I was using the Zennio app to do things remotely ( ex when I’m working to set the water heater).
The only device which has access to internet as the company which installed the KNX explained is the screen which is the one who gives the commands to the switches. Just to explain clearly. I don’t have a KNX IP interface, no any switch has access to the internet, only one screen has access to the internet which is the one I’m using to the app. This app is like a mirroring of this screen.
I installed, as I talked u above , the HA on a raspberry pi and I cannot find even the screen. How can I communicate with my system? Or how can I communicate with the screen through HA and from there to give the commands.
THANK YOU FOR THE PATIENCE.
AND A BIG SORRY FOR THE HUGE MAG AND FOR MY ENGLISH

Hi 👋!
You'll need to install a Knx IP interface, if that screen thing isn't one.
What interface was used by ETS to configure all devices?

Hi really thnQ for the answer 😀
I have no idea.
But the question now is if I installed an IP INTERFACE I will have access to each switch?

Well, in theory: yes.
In practice you'll need

  • to know about how Knx works in principle
  • know what Group addresses are used for which function (and their DPT)
  • and ideally have access to ETS and your project file

ThnQ for the response
Another one question just to clarify
My switches do not have access to internet. They have only electricity cables. How can I find them if they don’t have access? Through ETS ? And can I do this without the IP INTERFACE?

You don't need to "find the switches", you'll need to know what group addresses is used for which function.

#

Knx doesn't need internet.

#

ETS is only used for provisioning. It can use an IP interface, if you have one. Or USB (HA doesn't support that though).

Ok now it’s clear
It’s necessary to buy an IP interface or I can do this with other way ? I mean if I get access to the screen ? Can I ? Sorry for the tons of questions but I’m trying to learn and understand what’s going on

If the screen had an integrated IP interface... otherwise, no.

tender grail
#

I think no any ip interface of this screen because Everytime when I restart the system has different ip address

#

I don’t know if am I correct, if any ip interface was installed should has static ip ? ? I don’t know

tender grail
#

I found this.
From this entities I can have access to?

steady mirage
#

An IP interface is a device with a Knx socket on one end and an Ethernet sicher at the other.

tender grail
#

I saw what is ip interface
I don’t have for sure in my system
But I don’t know if I have on the screen intergrated

#

This how it’s the connection of the KNX screen

#

Have a look at the manual. But if HA or ETS doesn't find it, it's unlikely that is is a Knx ip Interface.

tender grail
#

I will check but I don’t have any manual

tender grail
#

Hi I found the ETS project file
Now how to continue to set it up?

Thnq very much I already read that but my question is quite different
If I have ip interface or not

steady mirage
#

The Din-Rail devices don't include one.

tender grail
#

Even the device

steady mirage
#

Then you'll need to install one (or get a professional to do it).

tender grail
#

The screen doesn’t have ip interface?

tender grail
#

?

steady mirage
# tender grail ?

Haven't you found anything about it in the manual? Then I'd say it isn't a Knx ip interface.
