Good day, My husband recently passed away and he set up our home assistant. I have somehow managed to log out of home assistant on his computer, his phone and my phone and I can not log back in, when I try to it comes up with a 403 Forbidden error code. I goggled it and it looks like I need to delete my banned IP address? If that is the case where do I go to do it and how? TYIA

Hi, what's HA running on?
Well, you could look where all your hardware is and take a picture and post it here
Basically, the goal here is to be able to stick a keyboard and monitor on to the device so you can reset the password(s)
I assume the first three photos are external hard drives
the last photo of the dell computer I think he said was his server?
I think it's this
shit, if it is that, this might be more difficult than we think
he was very smart with this stuff and I am more of a able to use a computer but no idea how it works type person
Do you have a keyboard and monitor?
I do, I have plugged it in but nothing comes up
black screen or jibberish
black screen
I'm assuming you didn't restart it, right?
ok, lets hedge our bets here before doing anything else
I see you have a monitor that's on above the last photo
he had an HDMI cord sitting there and I just pulled it into the second monitor and nothing, the light is not on for the service. I lost power awhile ago and thats why I started trying to get home assistant fixed but made things worse
is that the main computer where he did all his work?
Yes i have a computer to the right of me that I am currently using with his main monitor
ok, does it have a software called PuTTy?
yes just opened it
ok, show me a screenshot of the UI
this dell thing isn't on i dont hink
Oh, turn that bad boy on
It wont
it wont??
and i didnt unplug anything, i press the power button and it doesnt light up, i press and hold, still wont light up
and it's plugged into an outlet that has power?
Yah, always need to check the basics with this crap
If you can't get power to it, it's likely the power supply that's shot. Especially if you lost power.
omg, im dumb, the power cord is super tight and i must have pulled it out while moving the box
two secs its loading up
haha
oh i should plug it into the monitor now right
you can do that or we can try the putty thing
both will get us to the same screen
so, that will take a moment to boot up if HA is on that PC
ah ok
I'd try again in like 1 minute
k
Also, do you know how to look at devices on your router?
no
do you know what router you have?
Ok, lets go keyboard and monitor route
I do have the dell plugged into the monitor but i need a proxmox login
ah shit
yeah
so you don't have any of his credentials?
yes on google though
maybe he has the user/pw there
well wait a sec
did he name the server anything?
I dont see anything related to prox
he has a lot of these number things
I do not see one that matches the service http number on the dell
10.0.0.11 is the server
so that's proxmox
HA is 10.0.0.11:8123
is there a 10.0.0.11:22 or 10.0.0.11:22222?
sigh nope
when i click on the 10.0.0.11 it leads me to a google log in and none of his passwords work on that
thats the whole list filtered by 10.0.0.11
when i try to log in to home assistant on my phone it finds Home 10.0.0.8.8123
The one ending in :8124 should be home assistant.
Aha, so the IP address has changed.
I wonder if I should just delete all of this and start over
well
Try changing the Host Name when you have HA selected to end with .8:8123 instead of .11:8123
TBH setting up home assistant seems to be far out of my skillset
Why are you trying to get HA running now? Is something not working?
I cant seem to do anything, when i click on it, it goes to Gmail log in and none of his passwords work
it's not easy, however your partner has a semi-complex setup, so I wouldn't base it on your setup
Now that the dell is turned on, are you able to access the home assitant dashboard from wherever you all used it?
no he has it auto saved on one of his tabs, i click on it and it brings me to 403 forbidden
so I used to be able to use his computer to open it, no longer as of this morning for no apparent reason
trying doing https://homeassistant.local:8123
well it looks like its now 10.0.0.11:8123, not 10.0.0.8:8123
Without the https, just http://homeassistant.local:8123 ๐
ya wasn't sure if he had ssl set up
Let's assume not, most people don't on internal networks as it causes more problems than it solves.
can you go back to putty for a sec? and click on HA then click load, then take a screenshot?
Just want to confirm he's using normal ports for ssh or not
when you do that, all the settings in the "top box" should populate
doesnt seem to do anything whern i hit load?
nope, it did ๐
oh the host name?
It has, it's loaded the info Petro needed ๐
it tells me that he purposely disabled SSH through proxmox
because 10.0.0.11:22 should be in your list if it was enabled
oh, lets try that!
but before you do
in putty, do this
then
then
then, screenshot
huh
I dont have credentials,
interesting
click on gssapi
then screenshot
Just want to see if that's defaults, if it is... (Which I think it will be) that means he never set an SSH key and we can attempt to log into the CLI
k
Do you think the ip wasn't static so it changed after the power went out?
nooooooo
well the power went out like a month ago and I lost the abillity to use aqara but still had the ability to use home assistant
ok, well that was a hail mary
Does your partners PC have teamviewer?
If you were willing, I could attempt to look around via teamviewer, only at your approval. Otherwise, this may be a dead end.
i am dl it now
