I want to log the time spent playing games from the steam integration. I have something working using helpers and python scripts, but that information is not stored in a database and dissapears when i restart homeassistant, how can i solve this? The sensors for each game and their respective playtime is created in a pythonscript, those sensors are the ones dissapearing. I don't want to create helpers manually, which probably is why the data is not persistent

I did an update to home assistant core 2025.1.2, saw that my energy dashboard was missing and did a restart. Now i can not load any dashboard, when loading the home assistant url it just shows loading screen but not more. With samba and ssh i can still connect but not by browser. Tried different browsers on mobile and desktop. Not sure if something broke or how to debug it.

Having problems with history stats. I'm trying to log the time a template entity I've defined is in a certain state. but the history stats sensors are counting up time ( i have multiple ones for different states) even though the template sensor is empty, where can i ask for help?

I have two different type of problems with my Home Assistant, running on a Raspberry Pi 5, frequently (like every hour) disconnects from the Ethernet port, rendering it inaccessible and stopping the control of devices ( i tryed to change cables, or where it is attached on the switch but nothing changes)
the other one is that occasionally, Home Assistant completely freezes without any apparent reason, and the only way to recover it is by pressing the physical reset button on the Raspberry Pi. Restarting via power cycling does not work.

While trying to find a solution, I
implemented a workaround to deal with the frequent Ethernet disconnections. I created an automation in Home Assistant that temporarily disables and then re-enables the Ethernet connection. This ensures that the system comes back online when it loses connectivity.
To achieve this, I used a switch to physically cut power to the switch and accordingly to the Ethernet adapter for a few seconds before turning it back on. This "resets" the connection and allows Home Assistant to resume functioning but this works just for the Ethernet error not for the one where i need to phisicaly restart the Raspberry

so for the past week or so, my HAGreen has apparently been restarting itself, many, many times a day, i figured out how to do this uptime history to see (i realized something was wrong because my tv kept popping up with 'home assistant wants to connect to this device' messages)
today i managed to find logs that actually look like they showed something related but being an absolute noob i have no idea what they mean.

Hmm. Not sure if this is a hardware or automation or other issue... I am using the blueprints from https://community.home-assistant.io/t/zha-philips-hue-v2-smart-dimmer-switch-and-remote-rwl022/353143 to control my hue dimmer switches (or really to allow my hue dimmer switches to control things) but I want to also add the advanced automation from this guy's tutorial https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nBdDdC2jVUc but I'm having trouble making it work - it seems there's already variables in the blueprints, and when I add them to the automation that's attached to the switch, it makes the switch stop working... I have an extra switch I can play with for testing and stuff, but I'm wondering if there's any way to keep using the blueprint and add some sort of variables, or how I can use the friendly names in my selector and also have the on button cycle through the scenes.

Hi, I want to work on the energy dashboard to add a graph similar to the solar forecast, but with hourly energy prices for dynamic energy tariffs.
I'm not sure if i setup the frontend Dev Container correctly, because when I set a breakpoint in vscode the dashboard in chrome takes so long to load, that it aborts and the cause of this seems to be, that in chrome dev tools many files get openend in the Sources tab. Has anyone experienced that and can point me to the right thread?

Where can i post about issues with casting dashboards to google nest hub?
In more detail, the google nest screen times out and shows me picture frame things.
This behavior is a sudden change and in the past automations would keep it switched to lovelace, but not it says it's still playing whilst it's actually showing pictures of random nature.

Is there better documentation on creating automations? Hello, i am very unhappy with the latest changes that backups are now by default encrypted. it takes to much time for backup. plz add an option to get the backups also flat as in the past. on my home network no one has access to the backup path, so encryption is not needed.

Very new user to HA and I’m having trouble setting up automations utilising the motion feature on my Ring Indoor Camera. I currently have the Ring MQTT setup and working.

I’ve tried the ‘motion activated light’ blueprint and also creating a new automation for ‘motion detection’. I’ve tried this for both the standard device (through Ring integration) as well as the MQTT integration.

Not really sure where to go from here, have spent a good couple of hours testing different configurations of the above and can’t seem to get it working.

Any pointers for a total newbie are much appreciated!

I am unsure where my question fits as its an edge case not directly related to home assistant: I have a Surface Pro that is running the latest LTS version of Ubuntu (24.04)... I know, crazy start already, right? Everything works really well and I have everything configured as I want it except for one small issue. It seems like the 'touch screen' sensor times out after a few minutes and gets 'confused' when it gets touched again. For example, if I walk up to the screen and tap on a card on the dashboard, the 'right click' menu for the browser will open up and I will need to tap elsewhere to dismiss it and then tap what I wanted to tap in the first place. I have found a workaround where I can tap on a blank spot on the dashboard before tapping the card that I want to interact with and that works for me and my wife but it is not intuitive for anyone else that may interact with the dashboard.

I don't have the correct words or its a problem that others haven't experienced before because repeated google searches using different terms has only gotten me solutions or diagnostics that produce no results.

I've even asked chatgpt and it was also less than helpful despite a very detailed back and forth where I was almost conviced it knew what I was talking about

anyway, as I said, its a minor thing but its been taking space in my brain for too long and I need to get it out.

samsung's smartcam security cameras are not supported anymore and the app and website are down so I can't access any of my home security cameras. Hi, I am running my HAOS installation for about two years without any issues, using RPI4B 8GB. Currently on the versions Core 2025.1.4, Supervisor 2024.12.3, Operating system 14.1, FE 20250109.2. Last couple of days i encounter really strange bug and have no idea how to troubleshoot it. The whole system freezes every 16-17 hours, by freezing I mean, UI not responding, Automations not running. RAM and CPU are not overloaded, they have both pretty stable load. Restarting (unplug of electricity and replug it) works again for some time. not sure where to ask for help. And logs does not show any error at the time of system freezing

Hello, I just got the Home assistant running on a pi5 and I was wondering if there is a way to get the dashboard to run on the pi also. Basically we want to have a screen in our living room with the dashboard on it and since I already have the pi there the easiest way would be to just connect a touchscreen to it. So is that possible or do I have to get a tablet for it?

Bonjour,

I purchased an Amcrest camera (IP4M-1041B) and enabled Amcrest integration.

The video stream works, as well as the sensors (motion detection, audio detection, SD card occupancy) but I can't control the ‘events’ (video detection ON/OFF, audio detection ON/OFF) through Home Assistant!
I have to use the camera's web interface to activate/deactivate these events!

Where can I get help, please?

Hi sINCE mqtt Update V2+ a number of enties on TRV TV-02 and others have disappeared so trv_current_heating_setpoint has gone BUT the thermostat card etc shows the trv target temperature but ni way for me to 'se' it in templates etc does anyone know HOW I can access the target temp etc from templates or YAML pls , really stuck with LOADS of Automations not working thanks

Hi! I'd need some general advisory on what approach to use in my case, please. I have Home Assistant that controls most of my devices (Zigbee mostly, etc.)
Additionally, I have a heating device (Eve Thermo Control and Eve Thermo, fwiw) that I've joined directly to HomeKit using Matter. My Router is an Apple TV.
I've exposed my HA devices to HomeKit via the HomeKit Bridge.
I now want the opposite: I'd like the heating devices be present in Home Assistant as well.

So: how do I do that best? Is the section "Adding a HomeKit device via Apple Thread border router" the right way, kinda since this already happened?
Since the first step says

Remove the HomeKit device from the Apple Home app
, wouldn't it move the responsibility away from Home?

I'm especially curious since the Thermo Control does some black magic binding things via their app in order to let the Control sensor actually control the heating thermostat actor…

Turns out it's a known issue upgrading from 2.0.1 to the new version and found a thread that told me to click a box under a menu I never would have guessed in a million years about an app deamon and reboot and it will let itself get upgraded.

I am moving my isntall from a Proxmox to a Laptop and everything works except the Matter integration for my lights which were also restored as part of the backup process, they show as unavailable. I have several Gosund WP3 switches that I use to control some high bay lights in my shop. The switches are only accessible to me by renting a scissor lift since they are at least 25 ft in the air. Thus I cannot physically reset the switches and reassign them. The Android phone and app(Smart Life) that I used to set up the switches was destroyed and I have no backup of the settings I used to control them. When I check the client list on my router I can see and ping all of the switches so I know they are still connected. Is there any way that I can reassign these switches to the new Smart Life app on my new phone without physically resetting them with the button on the switch??

I'm trying to move a kubernetes HA to Docker HA. The docker one runs on a different machine. In both cases, a postgres database is used, but the credentials and url are different. After moving everything over, i get the notice that the recorder cant start (because most likely its trying to connect to the old url), where do i configure the database url?
Changing configuration.yaml -> recorder -> db_url does not seem to do anything after restarting

Where do I ask about device trackers? Specifically my goal is to accurately track who is home or not through their smartphone, with the following constraints:

  • Home assistant is not visible from outside the home network.
  • Home network sometimes, but rarely reassigns in-network ip address of smartphones.

Hey team. So I'm brand new here and I have home assistant green. I'm having a problem where my HA goes offline every night, then i have to turn it off and on again in the morning to get it rolling. Sure there'll be something in the logs that explains it, but I just don't know what i'm looking for or where I should be looking.

Hi everyone, I’m new here. I love Home Assistant, and I think I might have found a bug.
Yesterday, I updated HA to 2025.2.0, and today I noticed a notification in the left sidebar saying:
Automatic backup could not be created
Full message: dpaste.org/EiHic

Checking the system logs (Settings → System → Logs), I found this error:
Error creating backup: Backup failed: [{'type': 'HassioError', 'message': 'Unknown error, see supervisor logs'}]
Full logs: dpaste.org/o424w

Then, I checked the Supervisor logs and found this error:
2025-02-06 05:29:41.555 ERROR (SyncWorker_2) [supervisor.backups.manager] Could not copy backup to vps_1 due to: [Errno 28] No space left on device

So, it seems like a storage issue. However, the next log line looks like an actual bug in Home Assistant code:
2025-02-06 05:29:41.559 ERROR (MainThread) [supervisor.jobs] Unhandled exception: 'JobManager' object has no attribute 'capture_error'

I suspect the system should handle this error more gracefully instead of crashing. Let me know if you need more details!

Hi. Where to post a question regarding HA recorder database? It seems that my PostgreSQL database got too big for HA to handle, looks like index numbers got too big. I was wondering if i can just drop all the tables, if HA will recreate everything on restart and if i will lose any data other than sensors history for the last couple of weeks (which i dont care about as HA was not recording any historic data for a while anyway)? Like users, settings, etc?

The built-in SQLite database has been optimized to an extend to which other external databases aren't recommended anymore and provide little benefit.

If you think an upgrade broke something then:

  1. Downgrade to the previous version to check if it works correctly there
  2. If it does then change the logger settings for that integration to debug
  3. Upgrade to the new version again
  4. Look in the logs for errors
  5. Open an issue, following the template provided and including the log information

Hello,

I'm not sure where this belongs; my Home Assistant installation recently failed to load the web gui. I can still log into SSH via port 22. As far as I can tell, there are no pending updates and the only errors that I can see in the logs are around the building of bluez/btmodule.o for bluez. The error is [stderr] error: command 'gcc' failed: No such file or directory.

What I can't figure out is what component should contain gcc.

The system is a Raspberry Pi5 running on an NVMe SSD, using the single-installation method where Home Assistant installs on bare metal.

Hello! I'm a happy HomeKit user with 50-60 devices working reasonably well who wants to add 1-2 other devices which only appear to be supported by HomeAssistant. I looked at #1284966617670881350 but it did not seem to apply to questions like "Can I use HA in addition to my Apple Home stuff". What channel should I use? One for the devs.... Can we please have the option to specify a backup retention policy PER CHANNEL - as opposed to a global one. My backups are 7.4gb and I only have 15gb's of space on Google drive. BUT I have a 32Tb local NAS. So I'd like to keep 3 or 4 local backups but only one on the cloud.

I programmed it at work and it showed up the second time I pluged it in, but at home it does not show up in the device manager.
The Demo that it programmed it with at work does work. (At work it did show up in the Device Manager)

Hi all, today a German ISP hat a major outage and I was affected by it. Since then, i can‘t reach my HA. I get the „Could not connect to server.
NSURLErrorDomain - 1004“ error in any app. If I try to connect through the local IP I get „Die Website ist nicht erreichbar (German for Website could not be reached)

192.168.178.140 ist momentan nicht erreichbar.
ERR_CONNECTION_FAILED“ However, the RasPI is online, I see it in the router and I can ping it in the local network, In Nabu Casa, it says „The instance is not connected“. But I can‘t even open HA locally, although it is online and has an IP.

I of course have already restarted the whole Network and the RPi several times.

Hi guys, something is going crazy with my HA. Everything was running well for weeks. For some reason I am not able to login via the GUI anymore. My streamdeck and also Alexa has still access to my devices. But GUI is saying "Unable to connect..." the logfile is saying lines of

So I have my phone hooked into home assistant and it’s showing the gps location. With an enitiy id being the one that home assistant gives you. (Example: device_tracker.mcb_iphone). Now is there an way to have home assistant on demand or periodically instant of constant and draining the battery? The goal here is to have it like find my friends for iphone but can just work with iphone and android. I know there is services like Life360 but that drains the battery while in motion. I was hoping something that is more like, location on demand and updates from time to time instead on constantly so it’s not draining the battery.

I just loaded HA on my vmware machine for the very first time. ** Part One:** I currently have more than 48 Current transformers which are sampled every second via an I2C call to get the current (amps). I currently send this to a Grafana server which I use to graph all of it. What is a good method for sending this data to HA? Part Two: All of my lights in the house are controlled via a web call; this can web call can report the status, turn on/off and dim the lights in each room. How can I intergrate this into HA? Just moved from HAOS back to HA docker and I used a backup to restore from that. Now it appears like that HA tries to backup Addons despite them not being there, not supported and not set in the webgui. So I can't do backups until it is fixed.

After updating from 2025.1(iirc .3) to 2025.2.4, I am unable to access the HA UI from my mobile phone as well as my wife's, I get a 403 forbidden in the browser.
I also can't access it from the HA app.
I can access it from my laptop running Ubuntu fine using exactly the same URL. Trying based on IP instead of hostname gives the same result.
Interestingly if I try to access it from my laptop through duckdns it also throws a Forbidden error...
If I try Duckdns from my mobile phone it throws a slightly more elaborate error: "Forbidden
Rejected request from RFC1918 IP to public server address"
Restarting doesn't resolve it.
I don't see anything relevant in the home-assistant log except that the Waze integration fails to get coords for my phone.
Any ideas what could cause this?

GUI-Discovered devices and integrations (an ESPHome device, my new zigbee dongle, and my fitbit auth) seem to rollback and need to be re-discovered every time HA restarts. Config and dashboard changes etc do persist however and storage is only 47% used.

I'm new to Home Assistant so please be easy on me. I am trying to run Home Assistant in Docker Desktop on a Windows 10 PC. But when I create the container and fire it up, it never opens a port so I can't access it. When ever I do try to access it with either "localhost:8123" or my actual IP and port it won't work. What am I doing wrong? Any help would be awesome.

I checked that out after posting and still nothing seemed to work. There really isn't any good instructions on the home assistant website for installation onto a Windows PC running Docker desktop. All I found was instructions for Network attached storage devices. Unless I'm looking in the wrong place. I think I'll just be ordering a raspberry Pi 5 and trying it that way.

Not sure where to ask this.... I'm thinking about setting up external access to my HA system (running under HAOS on an x86). I was considering adding a subdomain to my personal domain, and then routing the subdomain traffic via my existing Nginx proxy manager to HA. Is there any way that I can tell which incoming route a user is using - could I limit who can log in, or perhaps what a user can see according to their access route / request domain name?

I'm New to HA and attempting to write my own python code that will run on various RPi hardware versions, with one or more of the Adafruit Qwiic sensors. I can read the sensors and create MQTT messages with the data without issue. I'm now trying to add "auto discovery" MQTT messages. I THINK I have the format correct, but nothing seems to appear in HA Settings->Devices->MQTT. Should I post code and MQTT Explorer outputs in the integrations channel?

Had HAOS installed on a microsd in Pi4. The microsd card died. I recovered most of the files though. Just got a usb ssd. Are there any folders I can copy over to not have to set everything up again? I have some of my preferences in github, but not everything.

Hey guys, random and to do with the discord server and its permissions, I noticed that it has the "External Apps" permission enabled for everyone, which means anyone can add and use there own discord bots here, this can sometimes lead to spam and other issues. If you're not aware of this, I can show a quick explanation (its a bot that just sends a message), but its recommended to disable it from the everyone role unless you guys want people to be able to use there own bots here 🙂

In Google Search I find a post titled "Home Assistant - Kaku Smart bridge, together with Home Assistant?" When I look at this post I am advised to open an account. I do that and end up at Discord/Home Assistant. I use the search bar to find that post again "Kaku Smart bridge, together with Home assistent?" No Results. With some difficulty I find the Hardware Channel. Same Search, again no results. This place looks like a maze and seems not very suited to find help fast. Wat am I doing wrong?

I'm getting very close to going full home assistant.
I've taken an old laptop and wiped it and made it my server (I have backups if I want to go back)
I've added all of my devices (including my phone) and checked they all work. (The govee lights have now failed because I didn't realise it was checking them every 10 seconds and left it on overnight. I've now changed it and have to wait some time for my API to let me back in)
I tried to test my first automation: when I leave home, send my phone a notification saying goodbye
Aaaannd... It didn't work. If I can't get this to work then it might be a deal-breaker. I want to be able to tell my robot vacuum to run when I leave university. I want to tell my smart switch on my boiler to turn on when I'm on my way home from work... I want to make sure all the lights are off when everyone leaves.....

Dunno where to post. Weird issue where HA for the most part will work (dashboards, automations, devices etc), however addon pages aren't accessible (can't reach/load ingress.js and such) and it won't allow me to restart HA (failed to connect to supervisor). Server health shows everything is up and running 100%.

I don't know where to post, but I am new to HA and having an issue. I am trying to setup the nest integration. I have followed all the steps, but at the end, when I am trying to link my google account, I get an error of "Access Blocked: Authorization Error". The error is "Error 400: invalid_request. I just wanted to recommend a Vacuum tag if someone thought it was relevant since a tag is required but the only organizing tag is for cameras. The majority of the conversations revolve around lights, sensors, HA auxiliary hardware (Voice, for example), etc. If a camera tag exits why not expand it.

I did look through that link however, for that specifically I wanted to find a non-expired Telegram link (which doesn't exist) so I could either find someone with a PCB or offer one of the 5 I would have to order. Thank you though

Hey guys, not sure where this would go.
I just integrated the Browser Mod https://community.home-assistant.io/t/browser-mod-turn-your-browser-into-a-controllable-device-and-a-media-player/123806 and it's showing my Chrome as a media player, so all good there

I have the mini-media-player also integrated and would like it to be able to cast audio to both my Chrome, as well a different google cast in the house
I tried to group them in Google Home, but it's not seeing my Chrome media player as a speaker.
Even if it doesn't work with the mini media player, are there any solutions?

Also is the website instructions primarily geared towards those using HA OS? Because I was following instructions for setting up Voice PE and only half way through realized the instructions for setting up whisper/piper were incomplete if you were running on docker. But found the answer eventually on the forum. Just wondering if there's any particular method to finding information on how to set things up for those using docker on the official docs or is that left to your own devices? Hi All,

I can use a bit of help with MQTT integration of HA. Where do is post the question best?

I have 29 Zigbee devices via Zigbee2mqtt installed and worked flawlessly until the upgrade to Zigbee2MQTT 2.0.
My Ikea E2201 switch is not working. Status in the MQTT add-on of HA is not updated when a button is pressed. So logged in with MQTT explorer on my MQTT broker and all messages from the device is shown. Enabled debug logging in the add-on, and also here are the messages visible.
Secondly I found out my Aqara Wireless mini switch (WXKG11LM) has the same issue. Stranger, I have 2 and the other one works fine!

Already tried:
unpairing the device and pairing again
unpairing the device, removing it from MQTT and pairing again
unpairing the device, removing it from MQTT, reboot system and pairing again
removing the MQTT add-on and installing it again.
No change in behavior.

Ok thanks. What I think I figured out tonight is that the Area information isn't available via the REST or even the websocket APIs, but I think I found a way using pyscript which has access to the internal helpers. I think I'm going to be able to subscribe to a trigger and then collect the Area info and then call the mqtt to publish that info. Crazy sneaky and hard.

I've been noticing some random DNS issues (I presume) since upgrading to 2025.3.x. My ping sensors (using fqdn of local machine) will randomly report a machine as being offline when it isn't.

I have had a home assistant setup for a while, and it's working, but I am still very new and have very few devices.

I have a few goals, first being to find a way to automatically cycle power to my router, or modem & router, when I lose internet. I want to be able to access my home assistant network remotely and not have to intervene manually if possible. I see some relays on Amazon that claim to do this, but reviews are mixed. Does anyone have any experience with this?

I'm not sure where to post this question:

I'm using the a web card on one of my dashboards to load graphs made in Grafana. This works perfectly fine on my laptop/desktop browser but it won't work when i open the same dashboard with the Home Assistant app.

Does anyone know how to fix this? I logged in with the same user as when i logged in via the browser.

Since the time change (March 9, 2025 - 2AM) all my time-based automations run one hour behind. Problem seems to be related to timestamp.

The time is up to date and correct. HA and HAOS have been restarted

hi folks -- I have an HA install running on a Beelink Mini S12 Pro [with HAOS], and I've been seeing what look like full crashes. Every few hours, HA Is becoming unreachable and remains so until I power cycle it. At the end of home-assistant.log.1 (after rebooting, so IIUC the previous logfile from the crash), I see a number of different integrations complaining about network problems, followed by a single line of NUL NUL NUL...(repeats dozens of times). Where could I ask for help debugging this?

Hello there, I have a HA running on a raspberry pi3 since a few years. Some time ago, I added to my home some nodon SIN 4 FP 21 devices to drive my heaters. One of them had a "glitch" where summed energy was multiplied by 1000. I have found some entries in the sql database to correct historic data (in statistics_short_term and statistics tables), and have written some commands to correct these, but when I restart home assistant, I always get the old value for last summed energy value, on this heater. Where should I look for to correct the summation once and for all please?

the idea was to use Home Assistant as a hub for devices but use my app (developed by me) as a frontend to communicate with devices, example:
App -> communicate with Home Assistant (used as a bridge/hub) -> communicate with devices

I would like to use HA OS, but I wonder if it would work with my other
services.
My services all run in Docker containers.
I have read about “Making your first add-on”. You create your own Docker
images from existing ones, what about when a new version of the original
comes out, do I have to rebuild the images each time?
And where is the data stored?
Because I want to make backups.
I use the following services: Traefik (reverse proxy), Tandoor (recipe
database), Dokuwiki, MQTT, MariaDB, Grafana, Node Red, Linkwarden and
Nginx (web server).
Let's take Tandoor as an example:

   - ./postgresql:/var/lib/postgresql/data
   - ./mediafiles:/opt/recipes/mediafiles
   - ./mediafiles:/media
env_file:
   - ./.env```
These all use a bind mount, so the data is on the host.
Would this be in its own directory as usual?
And how would I have access to it?
And since I actually send requests to Tandoor, for example, which is
accessible via the Internet, via Traefik, what would it look like if the
container runs in HA OS as an addon on?
Is it still possible to reach it via domains or subdomains or set it to
be reachable in this way?
Because in my case Tandoor, Dokuwiki, Grafana, Linkwarden and Nginx are
accessible from the Internet.

The Home Assistant Voice Preview Edition (HAV PE) device is unable to connect to the home Wi-Fi network, which is a dedicated IoT network running on 2.4GHz. I followed the standard connection steps via the Home Assistant Companion app. However, during the process, the device repeatedly asks for physical button authorization and remains stuck on "Connecting." Ultimately, the connection fails with an "Unable to Connect" error after several attempts.

It often fails to control the valve on the sonoff TRV's.
It says power is 100% and valve open percent is 100%
But on the individual TRV's they're all set to fully closed.

I've gone through a ton of GitHub pages looking for some information about a problem I'm having with my HA and Tuya integration. It doesn't appear to be anything new and pops up multiple times under different guises.
Not sure where to go on here - completely new to Discord but it looks a lot like Slack (dont hate).
Basically all been working well for months but now I get frequent Tuya disconnects and everything stops.
This is popping up in the logs - ConnectionResetError: [Errno 104] Connection reset by peer.
My network and hardware (and ISP etc) has not changed, the only recent changes are to do with VirtualBox and HA itself - updates. I thought it might be one of those that has hosed everything but even when I roll back both of them the issue is still present. It's driving me bonkers! I have to reload the integration to get everything to kick in again.
Atm I've put an automation in place to do this when the error occurs but it's not ideal.
Where do I take this?

Hi got a new problem. HA is flooding my dns with reverse lookups. Target whole subnet. Tried to disable dns fallback without luck. Any ideas? Running in Proxmox with Adguard and Unbound as DNS.

This is probably a simple question but I am brand new to HA and it's really overwhelming just how much there is, but I know that the Servies tab in Developers Tools was changed to the Actions tab, but it seems like there are way more options under the Services dropdown if you go their manually. Is there a reason so many services are not listed under Actions?

Hello, I've installed Homeassistant on an RPI5 (8gig version) on an A2 SD-card. After the first start everything works normal and I start to connect my stuff (~90% IKEA Smarthome products) and except for their window/door sensor everything connects perfectly. The window/door sensor connects but doesn't show a status like batterylife and if its open or closed.
After I connected all products and try to go on another setup tab I'm loosing connection to HA and even a restart wont help.

I've already tried flashing the SD-card again (both times with the RPI imager), but it happened again. Before the reflash I connected the Pi to a monitor to check the logs and it tried to start the Network Manager and something else for at least 15min.

I want to build a dashboard that gives me an overview of issues I need to fix within HA. Examples are unavailable entities, system log errors, and more. I have managed to create sensors for the unavailable entities purpose, but I am not succeeding in making a sensor that carries system_log errors (max 10) which I can utilise for the systemlog card. Can anybody help me?

Hi, I have HA deployed on a Raspberry Pi5.
I have an issue with updating HAOS from 14.2 to v15 and am unsure where to get help or what could be the problem.

I tried to deploy the update 3 times today but every time the RPi5 re-started, HA wouldn't start up (i had to look up my router to see if it was back up) and i'd have to disconnect and then reconnect the power to the RPi5 for it to start and log back onto my local network.

I'm not sure what to do or how to update HAOS.
Any help would be amazing!

I am running HA with a Sonoff Zigbee stick via Zigbee2MQTT. Works perfect so far.
I have the requirement to add a 2nd zigbee network in a remote location. This location is miles away (garden), however has a decent and most of the time stable network connection. The zigbee-infrastructure in the garden should be manageable over the same home assistant instance (server). How can i achieve this? Tasmota2Mqtt is way, but lacks for feature (from my point of view). Thats why, well a 2nd network (?) an extenstion (?).

I've got HomeAssistant accessible via reverse proxy from cloudflare. Could someone ELI5 how I would go about putting my local nginx webpage on it as well such as mydomain.tld/HA and mydomain.tld/homepage. ...Or I'm not sure if it would be better for mydomain.tld to be the homepage with a redirect to mydomain.tld/HA.

Am I headed in the correct direction with this? Or even if there is a good guide I should follow, that would be helpful as well.

I've tried to update Home Assistant OS from v12 (I think) to v15, and after the device came back online it's not loading Home Assistant. I've restarted it several times. Then I've also plugged in a monitor to see what's happening. I'm getting the following error several times, then the second one:
