To be fair I'm on hundreds of discord servers and this is arguably one of the most chaotic I've seen.
This is not an easy server to digest ...
It's been setup like a forum / notice board rather than a chat service like almost all other servers.

Hi there, I have a Slimmelezer smart meter with P1 port, and unfortunately, it has started becoming unavailable in HA, it seems as the webpage provided by the Slimmelezer is okay, and on refresh it works a few moments (less than a minute) and then it just says "Unavailable" - anyone experiencing the same or can point me in a direction? 🙂

I'm trying to get started with YAML and the configuration of helpers via configuration.yaml
Where can I ask something about this topic? I learned the basics of yaml, but I have the following question:

it gives an example code for the configuration.yaml
I copied it completely for testing, but nothing actually happened.
My question is: Do I have to create the helper in UI first? Or why isn't the helper created automatically when just copying the example?

I actually only want to have the "unit_of_measurement" added to a number helper. Is there a way to "enable" it in the configuration, so it shows up in the UI? Or is this kind of value something I can only define via YAML?

Hello,

I am running HA OS on a RaspPi and would like to add Pi Hole. While everything seems to be very nicely integrated, thank you very much.

I'm just overwhelmed by all the same names and etc, so now I'm scared 🙂

when i add Pi Hole to Home Assistance it asks:
Host - is this a new host, or am i suppose to take the name the Pi already has?

**Port **- this one just is 80, right?

Name - is the pi hole a separate instance, so it gets a different name.

Standort - Just call it admin? is there a right or wrong?

I am running the unifi network application as an addon. It has been working wonderfully for years, but now I am completely locked out. When I enter my username/password it sends me a one-time code by email. But after I type it in, I get this:

I am pretty much certain the username/password is correct, because if I do any other gibberish passwords I don't get the one-time code.

What channel would you recommend for this question: Anyone out there using Homepage (gethomepage.dev). I'm using it as my main entry point for everything in home lab. I think I followed the instructions correctly for setting up HomeAssistant with a service widget. The link works, and I can go from the homepage to Home Assistant URL just fine. But the service widget part shows "404 not found" for the sensors I chose to display. I have a valid Long Lived Access Token from Home Assistant and enterd that in the "KEY" field. I've deleted and recreated this a few times, to no avail. Tried to use single quotes around parameters. Played around with that kind of formatting to no avail. Nothing seems to make this work, although I've seen pictures of other people's dashboards with it working, so I must be missing something. Am I using the wrong key? Is there some other API Key I should be using rather than the Long Lived Access Token?

I recently purchased a home assitant green, and I restored a backup on it from my previous installation on virtualbox. On the PC, home assistant was running ok, but now about once daily my instance stops working, so I have to hard reset Home assistant green to work again. Any ideas why?

I have a thermostat and an separate temperature sensor (Tapo). In the tapo app I can set them up to be linked, so the sensor from the thermostat itself is ignored and the separate sensor is used. How do I link this in HA? What channel would I ask this in?

So not incorrect content on a certain page, but an overall issue? I have the suspicion that parts of the documentation are accidently excluded from search indexing, both for the search of the documentation itself, but also from google indexing.

If you think an upgrade broke something then:

  1. Downgrade to the previous version to check if it works correctly there
  2. If it does then change the logger settings for that integration to debug
  3. Upgrade to the new version again
  4. Look in the logs for errors
  5. Open an issue, following the template provided and including the log information

Hey guys! My home automation experience does not reach beyond a combination of alexa + zigbee/hue lights.
We moved into a house and I want to get started with more and my first goal is using smart thermostats to control heating:

Sadly it seems like the more I read the more unsure I get what I need.

First I thought it will be easy, zigbee protocol and everything should work. now I am unsure between brands, do not know the difference between matter, zigbee and thread, for everything that works perfect for one guy it is a catastrophe for the next guy... 😖

My home is fitted with alexa and zigbee lighting.
My next step would be to buy a beelink s12 pro and add temperature control to my kit.
I thought first I'd only need smart thermostats for my radiators but now I am unsure if more sensors are needed and which protocol to use.

Future plans would include some form of presence/movement detection, camera doorbell, perhaps security cameras.

Please help me find a place or way to make better shopping decisions this blackweek 🙈

Not really sure where to ask for help so here goes:
I updated from 2024.11.2 to 2024.11.3 and when HA is back online several integrations are gone, such as Deconz, MariaDB, FileEditor and a few others. I tried to restore a full backup but these integrations are still gone.
Do i have to start fresh again or is there any other way to get this working? I reeeeaaaally dont want to add all devices again...

I'm having an issue where my energy meter (esphome) got a new API key and even though Home Assistant got the new key it does not fetch any energy data. The device is working and I can see through the Wifi Log that energy data is fetched properly, so the problems must be inside HA.

Hello,
I'd like some advice on what to buy as I've been looking for a solution myself but can't find anything convincing.
In my bathroom I would like to create a colored lighting on 6 bulbs type GU10 in 220v if possible. Already if you have brands or products that work well with home assistant for a reasonable price I would be delighted.
Then the problem I can't find a solution for is that I'd like a remote control that I can hang on a wall bracket that controls the choice of color and intensity of these lamps. A wifi remote or something else I don't know. And if possible that the remote is pretty enough not the type Ali express extra flat low end please. Thanks

I'm the maintainer of the python caldav client library. The HA caldav integration depends on this library. The caldav library is dependent on the Requests library, which seems to be on a dead end - hence it will most likely be replaced with another library in the 2.x releases of caldav. Since this impacts the HA dependencies, I would like feedback from the HA communicty before making any decisions on this. I have a Lepro Smart LED Ceiling Light 15W 1250lm, App or Voice Control which as stopped workign due to an unknown reason with Home Assistant and I needed to do a backup. It's lost the settings for it which I had installed with Tuya originally it was in Smartlife but due to disconnections, I paired it to work in Tuya in the mobile APP then it came into Home Assistant auto!. The light now will not pair at all and I have been trying different ways since yesterday. If I remember last time it took me ages to pair it so it's not the best light for this bit a good light for the bathroom and fits its size, Im I'm a little stuck on what to do with the light with getting the same dimensions that will pair better into Home Assistant that is ok for the Bathroom? Any help be great If I can get it paired I have no issues with it!

hello, I am new to discord , but not new to HA. I am running HA for 3 years now and have been extending it a lot. After installing coarl.AI chip, external SSD 1Tb (USB) and installing frigate and 2 cameras I think I overloaded my system a lot. (running all on an RPI4 2GB). I had several times a reboot or a frozen HA and today I dsicoverd all my history was goen. I found a corrupt database from yesterday and tried to revoer it by sqlite3 ".recover" . this resulted in getting my data back ultil yesterday, but nothing from last 3 years. Am I doing something wrong?> how do i get it back? I have still a huge .corrupt file in the /config but I read that this is jsut a wrong file and nees to be deleted... what to day next to get my data back?

Hey everyone, I recently bought a Raspberry Pi with my first goal to replace Amzn Echo while also running a Plex server on it while my long term goal is getting a separate computer to serve as a NAS (edit: so the home assistant is a standalone computer) and need a little consulting on how to setup everything in parallel like in docker containers or not etc. (not sure what's the right channel for that type of questions).

I am looking for some guidance with the Assist Microphone Add-On. I have confirmed a working configuration using several logitech headsets. I am attempting to replace that with a Conference Room speaker/mic. The device is listed in both Input and Output dropdowns. I go to Settings>Voice Assistants>Debug, and the page never fully reaches the state where I can test by sending and receiving prompts/responses

Does anyone have a good lead on how to start with a smartfox integration into home assistant? I used modbus but I have two problems:

  • some values jump up randomly (ex. {name: solar.power_pv1,unit_of_measurement: W ,data_type: uint32 ,input_type: holding,slave: 1,address: 41399,scan_interval: 5} jumps randomly as seen in the pictures
  • I can set the output mode of a relay to 'off' and to 'manual' but not to 'automatic' again ( {name: aout.mode, data_type: int16, input_type: holding, slave: 1, address: 42206, scan_interval: 5, unique_id: aout.mode}?

Hi, I have Traefik running in Docker on a Synology NAS and Home Assistant on a Raspberry Pi. When I use a reverse proxy, e.g., hass.domain.me, Home Assistant itself works fine. However, the moment I try to start Phoscon in the Deconz integration, I can’t access it and get an error. Does anyone recognize this issue?

Hey guys, I am looking to set up my first Home Assistant System. I am very tech-savvy, but I don't particularly want to set up a virtual machine on one of my Windows systems or a Linux box. Therefore, I am considering HA Green, Yellow, or Raspberry PI. Since I have no experience with Raspberry Pi, which of these systems gives me the most compute power, expandability, and capability? I am struggling where/what to post. I have a linux control system with a UI that talks to lots of sensors. I would like to include matter devices into my system. I have been reading about chip-tool, openthread-border-router and homeassistant keeps coming up, but I downloaded the HA image and it seems to be a controlled environment and that does not work for me. I have actuallly built an Ubuntu 22.04 image, and have installed snap/otbr and snap/chip-tool. And I have loaded RCP firmware onto an nrf52840 device. I have actually (with a lot of trial and error) gotten to control a matter door lock. But I am struggling to understand how the matter fabric is retained across boots. In fact, when I use chip-tool non-interactively it seems to forget about nodes already in the fabric. Is there some other tool that does commissioning that manages and retains the fabric that I should be looking at? I also tried to use the border router, but it got an error that the RCP version #was 11 and it wanted something 4-6. Anyone else seen this and where do I find old versions (or do I need a different openthread-border-router?) Basically, I think I want my box to be much like a matter hub but I have now found the ideal instructions that describe how to build that. thanks

I have an automation that groups together two switches (one ESPHome and one Zigbee2MQTT) and a light (Zigbee2MQTT) so they keep their state in sync. It works really well other than very occasionally going rogue and getting into a loop where everything tries to continuously switch on and off as fast as possible. The only way to resolve it is to disable the automation. Could you tell me where I should post please?

There are so called iButton devices (based on the DS1990 chip AFAIK) available for the 1-wire bus, which are popular as cheap but secure ways to implement access control, e.g. disarming your alarm system. We have the onewire integration that supports integrating 1-wire devices like temperature sensors into HA, but support for these particular chips is missing.

What’s different to other sensors is the fact that these iButtons are not always connected to the bus. And they don’t have an intrinsic value you want to get out of them. Rather the bus should be polled (in a higher frequency than for regular devices!) for the presence of these, and that information should be mapped to a boolean sensor in HA to be able to trigger other automations (e.g. alarm).

Btw, having migrated my smarthome system from OpenHab to HA, this is a key missing piece for feature parity for me, as OH does have support for iButtons built-in.

I have a purple air sensor from which I get data using the rest platform, and then the values are broken into individual sensors with templates.

I'm trying to use the sensor filter integration to filter some of those template sensors, but it doesn't seem to be having any effect. Also, there is yaml stuff not working (HA complains about the config if I try to put the platform: filter entity in a file in my sensors folder, which is an included directory in configuration.yaml. If I put that entity directly in configuration.yaml it warns about having 2 sensor sections)

Not sure where to post. There are a number of open issues on github relating to the same script renaming issue. hey y'all, I've run into an issue and I'm not sure where to put it.

I'm running home assistant (latest) in docker on an x86 minipc running debian.

at 15 minutes past the hour, at seemingly random hours, home assistant CPU usage spikes and stays high. it would saturate the CPU. I set a CPU limit in docker til I figure out what's going on.

in htop it shows multiple, 4 or more, instances of

python3 -m homeassistant --config/config

eating all the cycles.

I didn't see anything in the container logs that looked weird or started at the same time of xx:15.

what can I check?

Hello! I've been tinkering with homeassistant for a while now. But recently I've been having troubles with SSL and remote access from outside my home wifi. I used to have a duckdns/Let's encrypt setup running but when i noticed delays and problems with that service I looked into other options.

Firstly i sorted a Nginx reverse proxy, which worked great. Then I wanted to use my routers built in DDNS service instead. Which worked for a while but now it give me a "cert invalid" error outside of my wifi. Any advice on where to start?

I've tried following this guide https://github.com/bullmastiffo/homeassistant_tools/blob/19e5a2dee9a9e191f78b11a8b61841524572c4ff/ssl_cert_from_asus/README.md but without success. The Curl command seem to fail which makes the download of the certs fail. Then i tried manually downloading the files and transferring them to the /ssl folder in my home assistant, which also did not work.

Any pointers, advice or links to dig deeper into this problem would be great! 🙂

Hello. I have gotten my home assistant set up and working with almost all of my smart devices. Now I'm trying to migrate stuff; So today I moved all of the lights and the dimmer in my office off of the Hue Bridge and on to my Home Assistant w/Zigbee dongle, and installed a blueprint to access all the buttons on the dimmer - it all works flawlessly. So next up, to account for wife acceptance, I wanted to add a Home Assistant Bridge to connect to HomeKit - this works, except everything shows up in "Default Room" and so I'm wondering if someone can either point me to the right documentation, or explain to me how to group the lights so that homekit sees the ones that I've assigned to the room "Office" in Home Assistant as being in "Office" in homekit as well... Is this just a matter of adding the bridge, then manually assigning location in HomeKit, or is there some other way to group them in Home Assistant that will just transfer that room details over?

Hi all, I've ran out of disk space on my data partition - (Proxmox install on an intel Nuc) - so I did a FULL restore from a backup from yesterday. Cleaned up my local backups and expanded the disk partition on the data from 60Gb to 250Gb... I've rebooted HA and the disk partition has not expanded itself.. I do not have a snapshots. Is there a command I can run to expand the partition into the available space?

Hi : HA is installed on a Pi 3B with a serial hat. The serial port is connected to a UPB controller. The UPB integration appears to be able to send commands, but not receive status updates. I'm looking for help to troubleshoot if HAOS is forwarding status to the Core container and then to the integration. This doesn't feel like an integration specific question, but rather an OS/Docket/Container interaction question. Where should I start such a discussion?

Hey all, I'm getting started with MQTT and RTL_433. I have a remote that communicates over 315Mhz. I have RTL_433 addon installed and configured, I have MQTT installed in a separate docker on my server and can confirm HA, RTL_433, and MQTT can all communicate. I can confirm that the remote data does show in the logs for the RTL_433 add-on. I can also see data in MQTT Explorer. I'm trying to figure out how to build a "switch" or "buttons" to control this remote via RTL_433, is this even possible?

Have a question about a behavior I am seeing in a docker install where if I restart the container using docker command then my update to disable an automation is not persisted. If I reboot via the settings menu then it is. So I am trying to understand what is the best way to make sure my settings persisted before I restart/re create containers

I have python-matter-server downloaded and working and have openthread-border-router installed via snap. I have OTBR snap connected with firewall-control,raw-usb,network-control,bluetooth-control,bluez, and avahi-control. I have configured the OTBR and set_dataset(...) with the matter controller. I am trying to commission a thread device onto my fabric. Perhaps this is the proper place to find out, how I can make a patch and get some support for having it included in one of the upcoming releases. It is front-end related and the goal is to have the hardcoded "Roboto" font removed and replaced by the standard CSS variables, so it will be easier to have a custom font HA-wide applied. I've rebooted the UTM machine. I've updated the DNS, cleared cache on multiple devices and across multiple browsers. I'm able to access the machine via cli and have run core check which came back with no errors. I've also checked the dns settings which were running to my pihole and switched them to a public DNS. nothing seems to help. I'm just stuck on a login screen

Guys - as the topic implies I am not exactly sure where to post. I am running HAOS and I updated recently to 2024.12.5 after which 'restarting' HA has become impossible. When I do a restart, Home Assistant observer (4357) will report everything is green and healthy "Connected, Supported, Healthy" but 8123 will never come back. It will just sit. Rebooting the the whole server will eventually get everything to come back but this is no way to live and I have no idea how to troubleshoot the issue, any help would be appreciated.

I have a CNAME pointing to my nginx. I Have created SSL cert for subdomain, and RP host with same address from CNAME and SSL Cert.

I found out, that you can hear Radio with the Media tab. This feature is not very good because there are thousands of Radio stations without an favourite function. Hi all, I was trying to write a script that makes use of media_player.play_media to launch an app on my android tv. When I run the action in dev tools > Actions it works just fine. But when I put the exact same thing into my script (it's an intent script, if that matters), it doesn't do anything, nor does it throw any errors in log. Wasn't sure where best to post this 😅

Hey HA, didn't know if this was #1284966540617449515 or #1284966353798697001 ? I have a RasPi5, but also the offical micro SD card and RTC recharge battery. In RasPiOS, you have to enable both of these "extras". RTC battery needs IC logic to be turned on, and for the MicroSD card, if you want max performance, turning on command queuing.

I'm not 100% sure how close HAOS follows the RasPiOS upstream, etc.

I can't pay the 5$. Earlier this day my Creditcard was not ready to pay in the USA, only in EU. So the Payment Site canceld my payment. Now i can't pay. I have no chance to got to the Payment Site. How is it possible to pay? Or what i have to do now? Without payment i can't start the Project.

Hello everyone 👋
I'm very new here. I am thinking of getting into home assistant but it all seems like .. a lot. Currently, my "smart home" consists of 4 govee lights bulbs (H6003), a Xiaomi robot vacuum and mop and a couple of devices from SwitchBot (making a dumb switch smart in the dining room, a contact sensor (that's also a motion sensor but Google home can't do that part for some reason), a temp sensor in the bedroom with a hub mini to turn on or off the AC, another smart switch on the boiler switch to turn it off and on)
I'm very confused by home assistant. Do I need a dongle? Do I need a raspberry pi? Can I just use my home computer? Do my devices work? Will it be a pain in the arse to configure everything?

I don't think this falls under automation since the automation works. Maybe a feature request or a bug?

If I have two lights (call them L1 and L2) in an automation (A1) they show up in their device listing as in an automation (A1). If I make a helper group (G1) and put those lights in there, replace L1 and L2 in A1 with G1, they will no longer show up as in an automation in their device listing. Screenshot to show the group is in an automation, but the individual light says no automations.

Seems like there should be some way to show they are in automations

I don't think that's a bug. Neither the device nor its entities are part of the automation. Just the group entity, which controls the other entities. I would say it is a feature request.

🟢Hi 🟢 I have not set up anything here yet want to know if this will work for me to start with I have 3 cameras that are connected to computer via capture card then shows 3 images as 1. I need to stream that live from where can that be viewed without needing to download app for the viewing can I stream to my websit or what other options are there fir viewing and what sort of delay will that have can someone assist me with setup and what will that person charge me. Hi, I am using a RasperryPI running HA for some years now.
I Love this app, but I have one issue.

HA stops working after a while and it seems to happen more than it used in the past.
Does any one have an Idea which log-files can help me the best to find out what causes this stops?

anyone here use the notify service for smtp/sms? i have a weird issue where automations are throwing an error saying they have an unknown action related to my sms notification. but not all automations do it despite having the exact same configuration for the notify configuration.

ive copied an automation that is mostly identical to the one complaining and just renamed it and changed the trigger sensor but it continues throwing the error. removing that automation and leaving the others ive cloned from does not report the error during config reload.

I run HA OS on a VM on Proxmox with 8Gb and 4 cores allocation. I run my MariaDB in another LXC just like my Zigbee2Mqtt and MQTT servers. I do not have a lot of add-on's running and still my server runs within 15 minutes from 0 to 100% processor usage. This seems to me pretty unusual.
The memory starts and stays at a steady 91% of that 8Gb.
I run version 2025.1.0.
I run Spook to detect anomalies.
What can/should I do?

Hi! I'm interested on controlling one garage door with my HA installation. Currently the door is controlled by a RF remote. My plan was to use a mostly-broken RF remote + Zigbee relay to "push" the remote button that opens/closes the door. When I add the Zigbee relay to HA using the Zigbee HA integration, it appears like a bulb. I wonder if it would be possible to create something like a virtual device representing a "cover" that, when I push the open/close/stop button, it modifies the relay status in order to open, close or stop the door, keeping some consistency. I did something similar using ESPHome, but in this case I prefer to use this spare relay that I had for no use ATM

My database was getting too big (>29Gb) so i disabled quite a few sensors (TX/RX's in ESPHome devices) and started a purge. It seems it has been purging now for a few days? It is constantly selecting and deleting states (see screenshot). Is it supposed to take so long? I'm using a NUC-like device with SSD. Running MariaDB database.

Hey HA, unsure exactly where to post this... But -

What are my firewall options if I install a 4g USB Sim Dongle? I assume... that the dongle will give me at least an ipV4 addr, but not entirely sure if it's going to be CGNAT'd or whatever. I like the idea of a wireguard port being open, but not so much HA/RPi5 having a public IP while on the 4G.

EDIT: 4G dongle would be failover.

Hello, all. My apologies if I am in the wrong section. I am unable to connect to my HA instance. Trying http://homeassistant.local:8123 or IP:8123 does not work. All I get is "Unable to connect to Home Assistant. Retrying in -x seconds..."

It was working okay until a power outage in the neighborhood. The PC never shutdown due to the UPS. So it should not be a factor. Nevertheless, I can't connect locally or by using my DuckDNS address.

I can't access many of the things on the navigation, such as Logbook, Developer Tools, and Notifications; the first two just displays an error saying "Error while loading page page name", but the notifications, nothing happens in browser. Console log of browser shows Failure writing unhandled promise rejection to system log: Error: Cannot parse given Error object after clicking Notifications, and I have to refresh the browser to get anything in the navigation to work after that. Logs for Home Assistant core shows Error doing job: Exception in callback _SelectorDatagramTransport._read_ready() (None) Full power cycle does not resolve this issue, didn't know where to ask

I've built a 0-10V heating circuit mixer using ESPHome. Now I need to adjust the supported temperature range in Home Assistant. Currently, it's limited to 10.0 - 30.0°C, which isn't enough to achieve a sufficient supply temperature in winter. Thanks in advance for your help

Hello all.
I'm running HAOS on a pi5, and it's been going great for a year. I'm trying to use the allowlist_external_dirs configuration in yaml to expose a specific public key that must be in the format of https://my.ha.domain.com/.well-known/appspecific/file-name. Is there a method for this to work? The allowlist_external_dirs gives me an error whenever I include a folder that is hidden (starts with a period).

Hello Everyone! This is my first post in the HA Discord, and my very first time dealing with a pull request ever in Github. I am wondering if there are best/required practices for creating a pull request in the Home Assistant Github repo. I forked the page at https://github.com/home-assistant/intents/blob/main/sentences/en/homeassistant_HassStartTimer.yaml to add an option to the sentence structures there. I've committed it and am now sitting on the "create pull request" page, but don't know if I'm doing it right. Any guidance is appreciated.

Hey all! Not sure if this belongs here, but I wasn't sure it should reside in a specific support thread. I've just created my first scene (Movie Time, of course!) but my newly created scene never showed up. I narrowed it down to not having scene: !include scenes.yaml in my configuration.yaml file. Makes sense, but the odd thing is that I was still able to create a scene, save it and all.

My thoughts on this: scenes should be unavailable from the UI, with some message instructing the user to review HA's configuration for it to be enabled.

  1. Downgrade to the previous version to check if it works correctly there
  2. If it does then change the logger settings for that integration to debug
  3. Upgrade to the new version again
  4. Look in the logs for errors

I've got a networking question related to HA. I'm runnning HA in a virtualbox on a mac mini. Currently it'd on my main network while most of my devices are on an IOT Vlan. I noticed a bunch of traffic getting blocked from the devices back to HA and I'm wondering if it would make more sense to move HA to the IOT Vlan or open a path between the IOT and just the HA IP address?

wow this place has changed since I was here last. Since the last update, I'm getting errors on my tuya ceiling fans and I found somebody in the forum having the same issue with Atomberg fans: Entity fan does not support action fan.turn_on.

I first thought integrations because of Tuya but now that I know it spans at least two different integrations, I don't know where to go. Timeline of both matches the last HA update.

I have a HA Android App, MQTT, and automation question? I have rtl433 publishing a mqtt message when a sensor hits. HA automation picks it up, and sends a push to my android phone. Sure, works great.

However, SOMETIMES, HA automations redeliver this message to android push. On android, I'm always on wifi and HA is running foreground, i dismiss the alert, etc. Usually the notification gets delievered again on HA resarts and upgrades when I click upgrade. Where... should I start for this one?

I want to have a system to essentially create parameterized TODO lists.
Intend is to generate packing lists for myself.. I.e. I'd want various templates that are mergend and created as todo list. E.g. a base that has clothes tooth brush etc., foreign-country adds passport, foreign continent adds power adapter etc.

I have some vague Idea how to do it with an automation/script. Mainly want to know if there's a better way before I start a thread (that's likely half questions, half documentation).

Using the new Backup process in HA, I copied the local (auto) backup to another location on my LAN (just like I used to with the old Backup mechanism) - and then tried to open some of the back contents (just to view) - but they all get a 'ZIP is corrupt or broken' message when I try to do that. I know theres a encryption code - by WinZIP doesnt ask for it at all...is this why its 'broken' ? Im loathed to attempt to restore a backup just to try this ...

I'm having a problem with the Custom Frigate Card. It was on there previously, but it had a random "custom card not found" error a while back. Now it is just not showing up when attempting to add the card to the dashboard. I've removed it (in HACS), cleared the cache, and re-installed it, but it still isn't showing up. How do I "fully remove" the custom card?

Im using latest HA in a Docker setup and integrated my MotionEye docker via port 8765, strangely I can only see the snapshoot and can browse the folders, but cant preview any taken image or watch the live feed.
Is this MotionEye problem like permission?
Or my Android phone cant handle?
Or HA integration?

Hi, new here 🙂 trying out HA on Rpi3 B i know its bit weak HW but still good for start.. Managed to make local tuya integration, but wanted to try something more. i have SHT21 sensor hooked up on GPIO port (i2c interface) finally managed to enable i2c in HA. i can see i2c-0, i2c-1, i2c-10, i2c-11 but problem is i cant reach them from HA or from anything. they have crw------- permissions and i cant change them from HA terminal. Not sure if this is right channel but if anyone know if its doable to interact with that sensor from HA or im doing something wrong 🙂

What's the best choice for running a fully local HomeAssistant? HAOS on a little hot rod Ryzen/Radeon SOC gamer box, or HAOS on the arm raspberry pie, Odroid devices. I must say that so for it looks like the little box I've started testing this HomeAssistant environment with seems to be ridiculously overpowered for any user interface as that is not it's function. Will I get much use for the graphics with HAOS? Doesn't seem like it would grow into that, or wants to. I think I could be better off with one of the HAOS devices. they seem reasonably priced. So what's a good place to discuss the what hardware for HAOS question?

Hey there I am having a issue where a feature was either removed or became bugged on my instance of home assistant. I am no longer able to select devices in actions menus including in automations. There doesn't seem to be a general home assistant support form but maybe I am missing something?

Heya and very new to HA so purchased the HA Green and got it fired up and everything has gone well until tonight when I was sitting here starting to build first script following an example to learn how this works.. Created script just fine however the system is not saving the data part.
I check the box and toss in the actions and even when the system pops up the save script it does not. See screenshot. Any help would be great as I know this will be a learning curve.

I have a question about the new backup system - I have configured an automatic backup every day at 4:45.

But I didn't read anywhere how this works - before the update to 2025.1, when any part of the system (add-on, integration, core, ...) was updated, the backup automatically created itself. After moving to 2025.1 I don't notice this anymore. Can this be turned on/influenced somewhere? I would like to have this also in addition to the daily backups...

Hey there, im experiencing unstable HA with version 2025.1.2 after updating my container (running on synology NAS) from 2024.10. Its not giving any errors in logs nor does the container die. It just stops responding via web. I can manually trigger this scenario when restarting in the Dev tools. Any idea what can cause such issues?

YAML is basic configuration. If you're using HAOS then #1284965172053807145 is the place because you can just install the add-on
