After first finding out that a ESP32 based voice assistant doesn't support the timer function I put together a pi based wyoming satellite assistant which does allow me to set timers.
What I cannot figure out however how the timer works - I had expected some kind of alarm notifying of timer expiring but cannot hear or see anything???
Any help??

Timers work for ESP32, as well as for Wyoming satellite. For former you need at least to implement VA callback on_timer_finished with playing some sound or anything else for user notification. Then it will stop complaining about not supporting timers. You may find example here: https://github.com/esphome/firmware/blob/main/wake-word-voice-assistant/esp32-s3-box.yaml

thnx for that. Now trying to find out what to change where - as I took the shortcut and set up the satellite via the installer. I presume I need to edit one of the files directly and save the settings again??
