I don't see anything in your post that would be impossible to do.
Most of what you are requesting just simply works in HK if you set it up in HA. It's mostly one-to-one mapping
Okay. thank you for correcting my questions. If you had some time, could you play the preview from the watch's cameras on your watch? I would like to see how it would work. I will be very grateful to you for doing this.
I'm not sure why you need to have me take a video of my watch playing a camera. It works, you can pull up your cameras on your watch. The picture is tiny but you can see it.
Okay, the image is shown live? Without any major delays?
Works fine for me. Delays are relative, there are going to be some delays based on the strength of the device's wifi antenna, but I can pan my cameras around and find the performance acceptable given the tiny device that is fetching the stream.
I see. I'll buy the watch and have to set everything up.
There are more features to buy the watch for than just HA ๐
True, but for me I really wanted it for two things: HomeKit & Workouts. My life now practically is dependent on if it's on my wrist or not, which is funny because I've always hated wearing jewelry.
lol fair... I use mine mainly for maps, music and a quick Apple TV remote. And notifications of course.
REALLY cool to be zipping around some roads and just tilt up my watch to see the map.
I didn't like wearing jewelry either, but when I started wearing my first watch, which was the Galaxy Watch 4 LTE, I found a lot of uses for it. But it annoyed me because it jammed and the battery didn't last long... And I often go out without my phone, and I know that the ultra 2 will last for one day.
More than one day. I can usually get around 2 days out of mine (if I override the charge to 80% thing). Granted, I almost always have my phone with me, but the watch keeps me from always having to pull it out or pull it off the mount in the car.
I like the 80% thing myself, I have had an Apple watch since the first one and have learned that it's a good thing because those tiny batteries don't last forever. Now I always have two watches, the current generation and the previous so I can wear one all night for quite accurate and helpful sleep data. I used to do it with just one watch but would have to charge it up every day - that being said, a full charge on an Apple watch is only about an hour.
Huh... actually, the second watch thing is genius! I want to wear my watch to sleep, but I also want it charged up too. But, I hate the 80% thing. Drives me insane. I get why they did it, but I wish they would have made it an option or something.
They did make it an option: Settings -> Battery -> Battery Health -> Optimized Battery Charging -> Off
There's also setting it for significant locations only: Settings -> Privacy -> Location Services -> [Location | System Customization | Significant Locations] - all of these will only enable optimized charging in locations you specify
I don't think that applies to the watch though, does it?
Why would I answer with it if it didn't? ๐. Follow the path, you'll find the setting, either on the watch directly or using your phone's Watch app
lmao... fair... I actually DID check, but I didn't find the settings in the watch app, tbh. I only found those on my phone. That's why I asked... ๐
Works for me, both Watch app and watch itself
Exactly. I chose this watch because of its functionality and battery life. I know that using LTE in it, the battery will discharge faster. But I'd rather be able to use the watch alone than with my phone. I can go out without worrying that I won't pay for something or I won't have access to the house
I can't wait to create a real-time preview of the cameras on the watch. Imagine that I go out and I can use only the watch.
