#Home Assistant Network Debugging

It wont let me upload the logs
Yeah my network is still just nuking itself now
I just started deleting stuff from apple home. I think the data is too much on all these different fabrics
Im just gonna port it from HA into apple so it doesnt use that much data from matter
Can you share a bit more insight on what you are running exactly? A few questions:
- Are only Thread devices affected or WiFi too?
- How many Thread devices has your network? Can you give a high level overview what device types your network sports?
- How many and what type/make of border routers do you use?
- Did you make sure that Thread channel is no intersecting with WiFi etc?
- Beisdes Apple Home and HA, do you use other controllers?
My best guess is still an overloaded network. It would be interesting to monitor pings with/without HA and see if drop rate/latencies changes etc.
The stability is already improved after removing from apple home
Yeah I mean with Matter multiadmin the traffic for updates increases linearly with the amount of Controllers you use. So two controllers essentially doubles bandwith usage on the network, since each devce needs to send state updates to both controllers.
I got a 2 aqara devices on 3 fabrics
I wonder if you have some devices which cause a lot of updates 🤔
so im just gonna simplify it
Its weird because the only way it would work better is if I added the skyconnect back into the mix
If I left it out it just kept nuking itself
The reason I took the skyconnect out in the first place was because randomly it was just totally nuke itself. Although not as much as with the skyconnect in there,
What other BRs are you running?
Hm, I don't have much experience with the M3, but it is a recent device so I hope it behaves nicely 😅
I wont say it's nice haha, Matter features are still buggy
Are these amount of errors normal?

Yeah right now im not sure what is going on but my network is super slow with running actions. All the thread devices are just delayed in response. I had it going good and then decided to switch out my wifi gear…then I switched it back to how it was before and it has not recovered to its original state.
I am getting massive errors. I took out the skyconnect and also am only running on home assistant matter fabric. I just cannot for the life of me understand what is going on now.
It’s always something new or different.
I am running currently this setup.
Border Routers:
1 Apple TV
2 HomePod Minis
1 Aqara M3 Hub
Zigbee Hubs:
1 Aqara M3 Hub
2 Aqara Camera G3 Pros
1 Third Reality Hub
Matter Server states 56 Devices and 100 Entities
Thread Devices:
22 Nanoleaf Bulbs
2 Aqara Thread Devices
6 Eve Door Window Sensor
3 Eve Energy
4 Eve Motion
The rest are zigbee bridged or wifi devices
I have my WiFi From Modem on Channel 161 for 5Ghz and Channel 11 for 2.4Ghz. Thread is on Channel 25 and Zigbee I believe is channel 11 for Aqara. Not sure what channel Third Reality Hub is on. My Deco Xe-75 in acces point mode has no wifi devices on it but it runs channel 3 for 2.4Ghz and Channel 40 for 5Ghz.
Stability has seemed to improve in that things are not being knocked off the network. But I think the logs beg to differ since it keeps saying reconnection established and then throwing a bunch of chip errors constantly
Ok I just realized I could shut off the 2.4Ghz on Deco after typing this by switching it to only 5Ghz. Maybe it might help…
It would be interesting to poke at my setup as a test sample
Deco can setup IoT AP, but it won't allow you to select channel
True. I only have it as 5Ghz right now
So that should help with 2.4 GHz interference in the thread/zigbee channels
I have a Deco BE1100, everytime it automatically switch channel, I lost some of my wifi devices
Gotta love it when TP-Link thinks they know what’s best for you
It also narrows bandwidth due to detection of radar signal - possibly to be my occupancy sensors
and when it does that, some devices may drop haha
I am having connectivity issue with Third Reality bridge either
